Usually mail order, Midwayusa, Grafs Reloading, others.

For just casual shooting & plinking I look at price a fair bit, factory seconds, clearance, etc.. Midway has ‘birthday pricing’ near your birthday. It’s fairly good, you have to sign up ahead of time, I think. I bought a fair amount of Speer .224” bullets last birthday, under $11 per 100.

80% of the bullets I shoot in my ARs came from sponsorships or prize tables.

RMR is good to go, and where I'd probably look for bulk 55s and 69s, which is what I mostly shoot.

I just love the Sierra Tipped Match King 69 grains. I have about 800 left and failed to get any certs off prize tables this year, so I might in fact try the RMR 69s if I can't find any Sierra TMKs on sale.

Been down this road a bit the last few months...

Armscore 55gr is a very adequate bullet out to 300yds. Use ammoseek.com to find the best price including shipping. I can get 1k to my door for $.08 on sale.

I have used Arm or Ally - their price including shipping was hard to beat. DO NOT BUY THE ARM OR ALLY BRAND BULLETS - they are doo-doo whether 55 or 62gr.

Check Everglade and Bob's bullets for their sales - both are good bullets. Use your google.

RMR, Everglade and Bob's include shipping in the price.

Hornady 55gr fmjbt is a very good bullet, but I can never get them for less than $.10 ea - obviously if I would buy 6k at a time I would get a better price.

I've never used plated or Berrys.

Have fun.

The GS I go to mostly has a shelf next to reloading supplies that gas bags of no name bullets. They are cheaper and great for plinking with my AR. Ck out your supplier for something like this.

For those of you who reload your own .223 and/or 5.56, where do you get your bullets from? Looking for 55's and weights over 68-ish.
Xtreme, RMR, Grafs, Everglades, MidSouth Shooters

Everglades ammo for .223 bullets. It's been a hot minute since I loaded for .223 but it was $89/k back then.
I see it hasn't gone up too terribly ... $99 for them now (not their top of the line offering, those were $140 I think).

I load those over 24.2 gr Benchmark. they served me just fine for plinking steel at 100 yards. I will be ordering some more soon, I need to get back into loading .223 and my rifles in general.

I looked at those when the email came in. $0.10 cpb @1000 had me thinking.

I use Hornady 55gr. Cannelure FMJ, because several local businesses, LGS and feed stores, stock them on the shelf. For some reason, that bullet is always in stock. Hornady's marketing team must really be on the ball!

The price is about $11/100.
