Congrats! I rarely shoot mine, but am glad I bought one years ago when they were dirt cheap. And isn't anything slathered in layers of cosmoline fun to have and clean up?!?

Nice find at a nice price. I have one as well and like it a whole bunch. I did a complete disassembly and soaked the parts in mineral spirits overnight and then brushed out the rest of it.

We bought two from Classic Firearms, a handful of months ago. The 'mainspring' did break in one, an East German replacement was put in from ebay.

I replaced a few trigger parts on the other, same seller from MI on eBay. Both are currently running well with my reloaded ammo. I've had both totally dismantled, with the assistance of excellent Utube videos.

I picked up one earlier this year from one of the well known on-line retailers...honestly can't remember which one. I had some extra gun money and kinda went on an Eastern Bloc mini-spree: bought a minty Mak, a used but still very nice Polish P83, and a new Serbian M88 9mm Tokarev. Fell in love with the Mak and the Tok. Nothing wrong with the P83, but the Mak was more comfortable in hand, better finished, and despite the slightly better sights on the P83 (my eyes are lousy, so both pistols' sights pretty much suck for me) I shot the Mak better, so the P83 went bye-bye.
Anyway, the Maks are quite nice. Good, solid, old-school steel gun. They point well, and are reputed to be very reliable. The 9 x 18 round is readily available and, in theory if not in practice, has a little more bite to it than the .380, so it should make a tolerable carry gun, if you like the size and weight.
