Best Minus - Connector for G42/G43/G48/G43X?

Wondered if any of those out there have tried a connector for the slimlines & if so which one you tried or use
I have seen them by Ghost, LWD, APEX, ZEV & Double Diamond
I'm sure there are many more
My USED Newly acquired G43X has a hard rough trigger pull compared to any other Glock I have ever tried
Thought maybe I could help it a little with a connector but leave the springs factory
It surely needs the trigger dingus massaged with a piece of sandpaper too
This will be a 100% concealed carry unit
Opinions?

I've tried the ghost connector but the one that came with my Apex Action Enhancement drop in trigger makes the trigger a lot smoother and eliminates a lot of the creep. Also did the polish job on all the internals of the G43X upon purchase and that definitely made a difference. Between the polishing and the Apex trigger, pretty happy with the trigger now, was not a fan of the stock G43X trigger.

I would either stay with the OEM minus connector:
Glock Part#33564 Connector 5.5 lb "standard" G42, G43, G43X, G48 (marked "-")

OR:

Overwatch Precision NP3'ed Glock OEM Minus Connector for G43/G42/G43x/G48
NP3 Plated G43 and G42 Minus Connector - Overwatch Precision
Description
We've sourced OEM GLOCK minus connectors for the G43, G42, G43X, and G48 models. This GLOCK OEM "Minus" connector has been plated with proven NP3 finish for a reduced trigger pull weight without potential reliability concerns that may arise from use of aftermarket connectors. The NP3 finish provides a smoother operation with less lubrication (Phrasing!), and its maintenance free nature eliminates corrosion concerns.

It's very possible your used 43X has an 8 lbs connector installed. I'd check which connector you have first. If you have the lightest Glock connector in it, then consider the Ghost connectors, or Ghost connectors with some spring changes meaning, a reduced power safety plunger spring and/or a lighter striker spring, but don't go below 4.5 lbs or you could get light strikes.
If it were me, I'd consider what type of break I wanted, either a rolling break or a crisp break from a wall, to help determine the connector choice, then try a reduced safety plunger spring.

I need to open er up & have a look & see if it's the flat or angled = - connector
Everything "Looked" to be factory when I opened it up for inspection & cleaning last Saturday evening
I thought it was a FLAT connector with no angle at all when I lubed it all up after cleaning for the 1st time

Yes, I have tested five aftermarket connectors in my G43:

1) Ghost Edge
2) Double Diamond (NP3 plated)
3) TTI connector
4) NP3 plated Glock OEM “ - ” connector sold by Overwatch
5) Overwatch “OP -“ connector (NP3 plated), which I have tested most recently.

[I used a factory stock “ - ” connector with a “¢25 polish job as the baseline to compare those aftermarket connectors against.]

The procedure was rather casual and simple (because I was not doing any formal experiment). I tried each of those connectors in my G43 and fired at least 1K rounds over a period of a few months and practiced my routine drills. (I posted my earlier results elsewhere…)

At first, I took out my Layman digital trigger gauge and tried to take the average of 5 measurements of the trigger weight with each connector. But for some reason, I was not able to get consistent measurements and the variability was too high to make the measurements reliable. So, I gave up on more objective comparisons of the average pull weights, but decided to compare them very much based on my subjective perception of how each connector feels in my particular G43 while actually going through m regular drill. The reason that I fired so many rounds with connector is to make sure that those connectors do not cause any reliability issue, which none of them did.

Note that the NP3 plated OEM “ - ” connector has been tested with both the std. trigger spring and the NY trigger spring (which I am running in my G43s now); and the Overwatch “OP - ” connector has been tested only with the NY trigger spring. All other connectors were tested with the stock trigger spring in the gun.

Further note that I have tested only one sample of each of those connectors. As such, there may or my not be much generalizability of my results to any other individual G43 or any other individual connectors of the same kinds.

With that being said, here are the results of my tests:

1. Ghost Edge connector. (My least favorite of all.)
This connector gave me the lightest pull among all connectors I have tested; but also gave me the mushiest break, which I didn’t like at all. I also felt the pull weight with this connector (with the std. trigger spring) was a bit too light for my liking. The steel sheet it is made out of seems much thinner than that of the OEM connector, Overwatch or TTI connector.

2. Double Diamond connector (NP3 plated). (My second least favorite of all.)
This is the second lightest connector of all with a fairly decent break. It’s neither as light or as mushy as Ghost Edge connector, but the pull is still lighter than the Overwatch “OP - ” TTI or polished OEM “ - ” connector, and the break is a little mushy….

3. TTI connector. (One of my favorites.)
This is the third or fourth lightest of the five I have tested, with only very slight reduction in pull weight, if any, from polished factory “ - ” connector. Break is just as crisp as the NP3 plated OEM “ - ” connector below. The steel sheet that this connector is made of is as thick and solid as that of the OEM and Overwatch connectors. I liked this connector the second best among all connectors. But I really could not tell the difference in felt pull weight between this connector and the NP3 plated or polished OEM “ - ” connector.

4. Glock OEM “ - ” connector NP3 plated by Overwatch (One of my favorites.)
Both the trigger pull and break feels much like the stock “ - ” connector with a ¢25 polish job. If anything the trigger feels somewhat smoother than the polished stock “-“ connector. I liked this connector just as well as the TTI connector. Note that this is essentially a Glock OEM part that has a premium NP3 coating, which is the biggest advantage of this connector. If having the OEM connector in your Glock is very important to you due to liability concerns (or due to G.A.P or G.A.D.S.), this is highly recommended. I was using this one for the longest time until I have tested Overwatch “OP - ” NP3 plated connector recently.

5. Overwatch “OP - ” NP3 plated (My pick!)
Both the trigger pull and break feels just like the TTI or NP3 plated OEM “ - ” connector mentioned above. However, this connector feels a tad smoother than either of them, while still giving the same very crisp break. This is also a cheaper alternative to the NP3 plated OEM “ - ” connector that Overwatch also sells. I like the way this connector feels in my G43 the best - very smooth and very crisp, and not mushy at all. Just perfect trigger feeling without making the pull noticeably lighter like Ghost Edge or DD connector. Because of the smoothness, the trigger pull feels even a hair lighter than the TTI or the stock connector, though I cannot be sure…

Currently I am running the Overwatch “OP - ” connector and the NY trigger spring in one of my G43s and the NP3 plated OEM “-“ connector with the NY spring in the other G43…

As you can tell, I am NOT really interested in making the trigger pull of my G43s any lighter than the factory std. pull weight. As a matter of fact, I am running the NY trigger spring in both of my G43s so that the trigger pull weight should be heavier than the factory stock configuration. What I am really after here is smoothness of the pull and crispness of the break. I think I’ve found what I really like by combining the Overwatch “OP - ” connector and the NY trigger spring.;)

As always, YMMV.:)

I really wanted to thank everyone who replied to my post about G42/43/43X/48 connectors
My G43X still has a rather heavy trigger pull even though it has a factory NP3ed Minus - connector
Sure that if I get some lighter weight springs things will come around to being tolerable for me
Really LOVE this small baby Glock with a nice sized grip
If I would have gotten a G43 I would be looking around for magazine extensions etc
Still think I chose the Perfect Handgun, Though Used & Only $350

I too had a 43x that I almost sold due to the crappy trigger. Couldn't shoot it accurately. Installed a reduced travel Glocktriggers 43x trigger with polished OEM springs and the gun's trigger improved enough that I was willing to keep it. Since then, I discovered TTI and put in their reduced spring kit which took it to a whole new level. Amazingly, it is now my favorite trigger w very little pretravel, a crisp break and short reset! Of my G34 G4with a Glock Triggers Edge trigger, G17 G4 w a 25cent polish job, TTI connector and spring set, G17 G5 w 25cent polish job, TTI connector and spring set and my Glock 19x all OEM it is my favorite followed in order by the G17 G4, G19X, G17 G5 not quite as smooth as the G17G4 and G34 G4 (nice but too mushy and a slow reset).
Thanks for posting your research.

My G43X ended up having the NP3ed Glock #33564 connector with a #33363 trigger bar
While I had it apart, I went ahead & took the Dremel tool to the trigger bar & connector + the firing pin safety
In my old stash of Glock Parts I had a Gen 3 G24 Trigger & Trigger bar so I swapped the faces so the G43X could be smooth + it had already been massaged by me decades ago to smooth the face & dingus + epoxied the little hole late last night
Haven't gotten back to it this morning YET!
Thanks for all the great replies
Looks like I will be after a spring kit for the G43X Next OR?
If it's trigger was a smooth, nice & crisp as my G19X I would have been just fine
Results to come with photos
G17L

Wolff Gunsprings doesn't seem to offer a trigger spring for the G42/43 Gen 5
Guess I need to look around @ Lone Wolf, ZEV etc & see what's available out there

… .
Good choice.(y)
I’m using it in my newer G43 and was using it in my older G43 for a long time. I very much prefer the NP3 plating over the factory plating job because the factory silver plating tends to wear off relatively easily after a few thousand rounds….

Glock does not make a true minus connector for the guns in the OP’s post. Early G43 connector was not marked and created a stiff trigger. This was replaced with a connector marked minus which is now standard. This connector does not lighten the trigger like the minus connector in a G17, etc.

33215 - UNMARKED ( ) -> Original standard connector used in early G42 and G43 pistols. Produces a peak pull around 6.5 lbf. Now discontinued.

33564 - MINUS (-) -> Present standard connector used in G42, G43, G43X, and G48 pistols. Produces a peak pull around 5.5 lbf. Replaces 33215 connector in all pistols.

33847 - PLUS (+) -> Optional heavy-pull connector usable in G42, G43, G43X, and G48 pistols. Produces a peak pull around 8.0 lbf.

Getting ready to put it back together
Found a good USED Factory Striker Spring & am going to try it in the 43X
Channel liner is clean but seems rough as the spring strokes inside it

I'm putting back together as I am typing this

Trigger is much smoother now & with the smooth trigger face & trigger dingus smoothed it just feels better
Still 100% spring tension & has a crisp trigger, maybe even better than the G19X

The addition of TTI springs will make it into something you'll enjoy. A short barrel is tough to shoot well and we need all the help we can get by improving the trigger. Dont forget to look into Shield Arms 15 rd mags. You'll need to change out the mag catch. I added one TTI plus 5 extensions for Shields to one mag so that little gun can have 20+1. The Shields have worked flawlessly.

If you choose a rolling break with a Ghost connector, but need to up the weight, you could put a slim-line NY Black trigger in it. There's Orange too, for the slim-line for even more weight.

I really wish Glock made OEM 4.5LB connector for the slim line models like the true “-“ connectors for larger models, so I could use it with NY-1 trigger spring in my G42 and G43s like I’m doing in all of my large models. Right now I’m testing Double Diamond 3.5 LB connector and NY-1 (Orange) trigger spring in my G42 and G43s. This combination gives me the overall pull weight around 5.6LB - 5.7LB with firm take up but smooth break….

FWIW,
Until the end of 2020 (i.e., FRM 72-26 Rev. 159), Glock had listed Part #39324 “Trigger Spring NY 1” for Slim Line models (G42/43/43X/48) as “Black” in their older editions of Parts Order Forms for Certified Armorers. However, starting 2021 (i.e., FRM 72-26 Rev. 161), they have been listing the same NY 1 Trigger Spring for G42/43/43X/48 (Part #39324) as “Orange”.

The latest Glock Armorer’s Manual shows a B&W photo (p.68), in which all four variations of “Gen 5 trigger springs” are listed. Interestingly, what is listed as the “NY1 Slim” in the photo is the old “black” color NY 1 spring. I do not know how many of those “black” color NY 1 Trigger Springs (Part #39324) for G42/43/43X/48 have been sold in the US; but I have not seen one myself.

In any case, currently Glock does NOT offer any other “NY Trigger Springs” for the G42/43/43X/48 than the Orange color Part #39324 (marked “33948”) - as far as I know….

I have a Ghost Edge connector installed in two G42s and two G43s. Everything else is stock OEM.

I didn't like the wall on the stock OEM triggers and the Ghost Edge is a substantial improvement. The triggers feel like the well worn stock OEM trigger on my 20 year old gen 3 G19.

It also improved my accuracy with the G43. It's like I can't miss when I shoot it.

I only use Glock parts. I don't change the connectors in full-size Glocks, but my 43 and my wife's 43 have Glock "-" connectors.

Unload the pistol and hold it in your firing hand only while pulling the trigger without breaking the shot, and watch the front sight for movement. Try different areas of the finger pad, and see if there's any patterns that appear in terms of movement of the front sight.

I have tried a number of Ghost and other brands of Glock connectors - I had trouble with all of them being reliable , pistol going into battery concerns, unintentional double taps - you name it . ! ... Only Glock OEM "Minus" and "Dot" connectors were truly drop-in replacement and function as they should . *I prefer the Glock OEM "Dot" connector in a Gen 3 trigger assembly (no trigger bar bump for me !) with a 0.5 lb. reduced striker / firing pin spring and a reduced power safety plunger spring . I do not change the trigger spring . Lastly , I do a $0.25 trigger job and I'm set . *Rule of thumb is : ONLY replace two out of three springs (safety plunger , striker / firing pin , or trigger spring - but don't replace all three or reliability issues could begin to come into play .

I have used the Ghost connectors by the dozen and they work fine and I have never tried any connector that had a trigger pull that I considered too light.
The G43x trigger was the 5.5 lb and was just horrible. Initially I tried the Ghost Edge and it helped a bit, but I was still unhappy. The Glocktriggers RT trigger bar and polished springs helped improve it. It was not until I tried using it in the G48 that it seemed to do what it is supposed to and I am quite pleased with it. I am going to try that Overwatch Precision minus NP3d and see if that makes any difference.

On ebay, Rain tactical has a G43/43X/48 trigger kit. It has a Rain Tactical Self Defense SD3 3LB Trigger Connector, a reduced power firing pin safety spring, a +25% trigger spring, and a 6 lb striker spring. The SD3 connector is exactly like the Ghost Edge I have in my 43X! Without using the striker spring I get a 4.5 lb trigger with these parts on both my 43X and 48. If you don't put in the 25% trigger spring you will get a 5.5 lb trigger. Super smooth with no wall. Like a super short double action trigger. Reset is short and solid.Full details in my other posts.
Just $20.
