Any of yall got experience with belly band holsters?
I need something to comfortably tote my G33 on runs with my pooch and doubt the efficacy of mace and my mini-griptilian benchmade when confronted with targets that intend to do me harm, be it 2 or four legged types.
After hearing way too many stories of creeps pulling up next to my GF while running and my general proclivity towards being armed whenever possible, I seek a holster that provides a non-shaking support for my arm of choice. It doesn't need to be supremely comfortable, either... this will be strictly for runs with the doggie and GF, which as of now are capped at 2-2.5 miles and I doubt will ever exceed 4 miles.
My typical attire is a t shirt and gym shorts, and to be honest I am not very concerned with printing in this endeavor either. I will likely carry it in the appendix position as that is how I now carry IWB.
Does one need to wear these in the waistline, or can I strap it further up on my stomach? I'm thinking around the belly button is where I'd position it.

I've been eyeing these up on Amazon, and was curious if yall had any experience with these, or others:

right on. let's both await further replies. I like the one you provided, but am not too keen on having that velcro. I don't want any further complications on the draw, especially seeing as my left hand will be holding my dog's leash.
I'm also surprised by the price of these compared to standard holsters, I am glad I will finally have an accessory that won't break the bank.

I bought the AlphaHolster Belly Gun Holster from Amazon a couple of weeks ago, as part of my inevitable "drawer full of holsters." It holds a pistol snugly, and has a velcro strap that holds the gun in place. It is also reasonably priced at 18.95. It also holds a couple of magazines. I think you could wear it higher than your waist - you can make it as snug as you wish.

+1 on the SmartCarry while running or hitting the gym. I actually use mine quite a lot. For running, I rotate the SC over to just above my strong side hip and tighten it down. Stays in place great and the sweat guard protects the gun nicely.

I used the pistol wear belly band for awhile since I have suffered a back injury and can't carry with a normal IWB holster. My only issue with it was that I had to put my G19 in at a slightly odd angle and it made me slightly worried that there was no trigger guard when drawing the weapon. I have since switched to a 3 speed holster belly band that I prefer since it is made to specifically fit my G19 and the extra mag pouch is on the left side instead of the right. www.3speedholster.com

Glad to see this topic brought up again. (it was discussed at length here, but none of the suggestions worked out for me: http://www.glocktalk.com/threads/who-jogs-with-a-gun.1509459/)

It sounds like you run like I do - just a t-shirt and shorts.

I bought a Pistol Wear PT-2 and took it for a three mile run with my G26. I like the concept and the product is well-made, but it didn't work out. I tightened it up as much as I could, but after running for a minute or so, the bouncing would shift the gun down and it would hang down and flop around.

I'm interested in the chest rig idea. When I go to 2aholsters.com it says the domain is available for purchase. Anyone know of a way to get more info?

Belly band holsters never did work for me when running, I found the weight of the pistol (G26) on one side was very lopsided and uncomfortable, also would tend to slide down. I've since picked up a smart carry style holster and that works much better.
