Barrel Identification

I recently bought a used conversion barrel for my 23 gen 2. Barrel is stainless, and only marked (9x19 NM 23) on top of the chamber, nothing more. I've seen some other online examples like for a 22, but none reference a manufacturer. Anyone have a clue who makes these?

I'll share my experience. Keep in mind this is a sample of one. I had bought a OEM 357 SIG barrel for my G23.4. The barrel came in from a reputable dealer. The barrel was marked very much like any other Glock barrel. There was a serial number. One letter followed by digits. Asked on a forum what gives with the serial number. The snarky answer was it come from a gun with that number. BS. Called the Mother Ship and was told that the drop in barrels not original to the gun did, in fact, have a number. This was not to be confused with a gun serial number. I'd suggest calling Glock for information.

A replacement or spare OEM Glock barrel will have a serial of L#####. The L is the first letter of the German word for BARREL (der Lauf).

Glock has sold pistols with barrels that have L serials. Glock sold four TB modelss made in 2014 with threaded barrels. When those sold poorly, Glock replaced in their unsold stock the original threaded barrels with standard barrels that had L serial numbers.

WRT the OP's aftermarket barrel, is it possible that what is reported to be NM is really MM, as in 9 MM? A photo is ALWAYS appropriate with these "identify this" types of postings if the question is posed seriously.

So I haven't fired it yet. But fitment is excellent. I've taken some pictures compared to my oem 40s&w barrel. Far as I can tell they're spot on identical. Actually this mystery barrel looks better in the lug 'less machining marks' than my oem. Doesn't mean anything, just something I noticed. But it fits my G23 perfectly. Even locks back on a empty 40s&w mag (I don't have any 9mm mags yet). But soon as I do, gonna test it out. I picked up the mystery barrel plus 3 factory 13rd 40s&w mags + a vickers tactical mag release for $100. Could have done worse I suppose............ Here are some pictures to lurk over + at the end, I found a couple other barrels from online classifieds, armslist.....etc. But none of them referenced a maker.

Examples of same barrel for other guns [NOT MINE] but clearly whoever makes these makes for other models too

I don't know for sure who the maker is, but it looks like an EFK barrrel. The stamping is very similar. EFK barrels I've seen were usually stamped on the side of the barrel chamber and not the barrel hood.

Maybe they we're made for another company by EFK?

You could call EFK or send them a pic. Maybe they can help you out.

My advice is to put it in the gun and put a few hundred rounds of different ammo through it. If it's accurate and feeds reliably, then it's a good barrel and it doesn't matter who made it.

I have a KKM 40-9mm conversion barrel for my G23 and I'm very happy with it. But it's clearly marked :"40-9mm" on top and KKM precision on the ejection port side. I also have a stainless Olympic Arms Barrel that's marked 45 ACP NM so the NM (National Match?) stamping on your barrel might indicate that it's an Olympic Arms barrel but that's a long shot.

But as I've said, all that really matters is how well the barrel is actually made and if it shoots straight and feeds reliably.

Wow, nice find. I would have never thought to look at Oly Arms. I mean it may not be the same quality as Lone Wolf, or EFK.....etc. But I've had good luck with Olympic before. At least with their AR uppers. Looks like they don't carry them anymore though. I'll call them Mon morning and find out for sure though. Again, good find man, thx

That's what I heard too, barrels g2g. There lowers was what I thought got a bad rap for the cheap castings. They did some forged lowers too which have been just as good as any Colt or Bushmaster of the day. At one point they were contracted by Century for some M16A1 builds (surplus M16 kits with new Oly forged lowers). I got one from 1996, been a rock solid rifle.
