My company gives us company award points when you do something good that we can then order products off Amazon. I ordered a foam wedge that goes on the back of a Vedder holster (great holsters btw). It is a piece of foam to go on the back of a holster for comfort, not the holster itself.

I received the following reply from Awardco (Employee Rewards & Recognition Software | Awardco)

"Hello,
I am reaching out about your Awardco order for the Vedder Holster . Unfortunately, this item cannot be shipped to Colorado due to regulatory/legal reasons. I have returned your points to your account. If you have any questions, please contact support@awardco.com.
Sincerely,
TJ Bittleston

I replied that I am former law enforcement and am not aware of any restrictions on foam being sent to Colorado, nor for holsters being sent to Colorado for that matter. Apparently TJ is ignorant that this order is for the foam wedge, not the holster which is shown it applied to in the product image. I already own the holster. Duh.

I just thought people should know that this type of Schiff is going on with Awardco. I'm hoping that this is just some misunderstanding and that Awardco does not have some anti Second Amendment stance that they have taken to an illogical extreme against foam. FFS. We have to fight this kind of nonsense where you stand and whenever it happens.

Here I put my life on the line for my Country, including all of the people and companies within it, including TJ. Now, I can't get a foam wedge for my holster from Awardco?

I have requested that Awardco please cite the regulatory/legal reasons why this item cannot be shipped to CO.

Let you know how they decide to handle this.

It's likely an Amazon policy and not whatever other 3rd party award points issue. I've had Amazon do that, seemingly randomly, with things like OC spray and herbicides too. Sometimes even things you can order one month you can't the next with no new or current legal basis for the exclusion. I don't see how being a former leo will make any difference either, whether it's for foam or a holster. While yes it's stupid, you're better off just moving on and ordering it from other sources. You won't win this fight.

Yes, maybe you are right and this is some Amazon policy and not related to Awardco. If that's the case, I am interested to hear what Awardco has to say about this and hear what regulation is preventing me from receiving this foam. My point about being a former FLEO is that I put my ash on the line for the same people that now refuse to ship me foam, most likely because they are anti 2A and that is not right. I (hope) that Awardco recognizes that I have the exact same rights as a civilian, which are the exact same rights I had as a FLEO, nothing more or less. Of course I can buy this from some other place, but I want to know exactly what went wrong with (whoevers) policy and why. I am firmly (against) anti-2A horse Schiff. If no one pushes back, we will only get more of this utter nonsense.

Is it worth arguing about? I think I'd just move on.

This type of thing is happening more and more. The Marxists have figured out that they can't get legislation passed so they're doing it through suppliers, banks, shipping, regulation written by bureaucrats etc....

If you haven't seen it, take a look at this George Carlin snippet on YouTube from years ago. Worth a few minutes of your time.....

I live in Washington state.

Amazon wouldn't ship me a Desantis pocket hoster for an LCPII, but I could have other Desantis pocket holsters shipped to me from Amazon with no restrictions.

Ever since the Washington assault weapon ban became law a year ago April, I encounter really weird restrictions from some companies/vendors on what they'll ship to me.

I couldn't get an FN 16" carbine barrel shipped to me from Optics Planet but FN shipped an entire complete 16" upper receiver to me.

I couldn't get a Magpul 10/22 stock shipped to me because one vender completely refuses to ship any gun parts to Washington.

I can buy these items from the local gun store.

A lot of it is laziness on the part of the seller. They don't want to update their ordering software or research the law. Too much work or too much cost.

Meanwhile, they'll tell me they support my 2nd Amendment rights. Just lip service.

Primary Arms has been really good, though. All I have to do is check a box in the shopping cart certifying I won't use anything I order from them to assemble a restricted item. They're really good guys in my book!

The same thing in Colorado. Sometimes there’s no rhyme or reason and the laws are misinterpreted.

There’s items I can get at my LGS or Scheels but PSA of Amazon won’t ship. That means paying a little more and leaving the house, both of which I try to avoid

Our company uses awardco too. Over the last 5 years I have received close to 3k in awardco points. Don’t do Amazon, I get the virtual Visa card. I have used that towards a pistol purchase and an assload of ammo.

I’m not arguing, just want to know what the regulatatory/legal reason is that they interpreted here. If no one says anything this kind of thing will happen more everywhere. Even see this type of thing happening in so called red states.

Probably some sort of corporate no weapon related policy not an actual law.
Yes, I think you are right. Remember though we are talking about a piece of foam, not a weapon or even an accessory.

Interestingly Awardco only offers a subset of Amazon products and this one happened to be available for purchase. Why would they offer it knowing they couldn’t ship it?

Also, what prevents me from buying a Visa card with the points on the same website and going somewhere else to purchase the foam? Nothing.

Just does not make any sense. At the end of the day Awardco and Amazon can run their business however they want but when they let their employees start to make decisions about what you can or cannot purchase based on some unquoted regulation and feel free to obstruct commerce, that just ain’t right. It’s foam. They have no idea what I want it for. I may just want to use it for some other purpose.

it doesn’t make sense but I’m curious what Awardco’s explanation is. Maybe it’s an entirely reasonable mistake, we’ll see. I hate to think they are trying to screw with fellow citizen customers by hiding behind “regulations”, just because we order something that they don’t like or agree with.

Sometimes, it is fun to argue. But your point is valid.
There is nothing more annoying that people who want to "see the regulation" about some minor point that isn't worth the trouble. Karen 101.

Have it sent to me as a gift. I'll be in denver next week, problem solved. As for shipping items to states that have some form of gun restrictions. A lot of vendors have blanket DO NOT SHIP , policies in place, rather that send time to verify what is, or is not legal to send.

What is even more annoying is when something so dumb happens that it would be nice to know what happened. I don’t think that is unreasonable. Maybe it would help others making similar purchases.
