Are the Remington Tac 13’s coming down? This outfit shows a pretty good price?

Is Remington GTG now or are they still producing junk?

I needed a part for my Remington VersaMax - none available because Remington was in bankruptcy. I bought a part for a Benelli. It was identical.

I am not buying any more Remington.

I watched a video today on Remington 870s - it said before 2007 they were better quality.

I went and got the barrel code and determined mine was built in March of 2006. I was glad.

The R700s are, by most accounts from gunsmiths I have talked to, significantly better than the Remington's made from about 1996 though 2006 (the slide period) and even more better than those made from 2007 through 2022 (the worst period).

The VersaMax is likely not coming back. TSS, the waning of 3Gun and other factors tipped the hand towards the V3, which, again, seems to be better in terms of QC than the VersaMax shotguns I worked on.

Yes, most VM and V3 action parts are available from Benelli. Obviously, the receivers and barrels no, but the trigger and action parts, yes. On the VMs I set up for 3Gun, they all got about $100 of Benelli parts in them out of the gate.

I've moved away from Remington as new purchases. We still have several R700s pre-1996 and I have my first shotgun, an 870 I bought in 1988.

I still kind of want a SBS based on the V3, but not enough to sell 2 guns to get it (self imposed rule).

I paid twice that for my Tac13.

Mine has been flawless.
