There are many choices out there for cleaning kits dedicated to the M-16 & AR-15 line of rifles. Otis is hard to beat as they have several different kits with various tools for the barrel, bolt and chamber. Just google AR-15 cleaning kits or go to Amazon or Brownells. And yes I do have Bore Snakes but that only helps with the barrel and chamber.

I am a bit of old school in that I do like to occasionally use a straight cleaning rod and patches. Dewey rods are my favorite. They are a bit pricey but you'll never wear one out. There are also many others out there that will get the job done.

Good shooting!

I agree with Dewey rods. They are great. I have used one for my AR's for over 20+ years. I would second the Otis. Some people will tell you to use the Otis often and then use the Dewey rod after a 1,000 rounds. I agree with this assessment.

P.S. I use my Military GI issue cleaning kit chamber brush and the bore brush only. The steel rods can and indeed do, nick the inside of the barrels, especially around the muzzle and the chamber. Just IMHO with experience. :)
