I bought one used back in the day. Less than $300 and it came with 5 mags. It was my first double action auto. It is the same size as my Colt Commander. It's one of my favorite guns.

No, but I had a P90 years ago.

Clunky, but very reliable pistols
I searched the gun shows for a good while looking for a P90 but never found one that suited me. I think the P97 is a lot less chunky than the P95 and not too bad for a 45 acp. I understand the P90 is a little crude compared to most of the modern day guns but it's still a solid gun.

I had a P97 when I was between 1911's . Good pistol but never carried it so in the safe it went and after many years it was given to a son in law . I don't miss it .
I never carried mine either other than throwing it in the truck seat while hauling the trash off. This is the first time mine has been out the safe in years but I plan to keep it.

Speaking as a guy who used to own the similar P89 and a P94, I'm not surprised that the P97 was in the back of the safe. ;)
Ha ha, not really though. I have a P95 that I'm not so fond of but I like my P97. Maybe it's on account of the 45 cal but I like the way it shoots. For a cheap less than $300 gun it's dependable and pretty accurate.

Clunky, trigger is pretty sorry but I love this gun to death.Have nicer guns Glocks,Berettas ,S&W revolvers but I love this old girl the best.I don't think I had one problem since I bought it for less than 300$.Ugly too,Glocks are Victoria Secret material next to this one.

Well, I don't think I've ever even handled a P97 so I'll defer to your experience. (y)

I have one, along with a P90. I easily prefer the P90 over the P97 but that’s probably due to my preference for all metal guns. If I recall correctly, the P97 has a fiberglass frame making it a bit unique. Both are solid and reliable.
