Not being an a$$ but I don't understand why you asked.
My wife and I both carry +1 Pearce extensions on our 42's. Not only that but we have 20 +1's on our competition mags for GSSF. Never had a problem out of any of them.
No worries. I was just wanting to see who "carried" something other than OEM, etc. It's tempting, I'm leaning with staying 100% OEM.

I broke my 42 in with a PROMAG +3... It conceals well IWB!

I have a Plus 3 MEGAR in my P3AT and P32/s. All have worked as they should.

I never pack a standard Mag other than in a spare pocket. But always with a Pinky grip..... Just sayin.

I don't do range time nor exotic super bullets!

GOD knows if I ever need to do the deed.... I'm going to have enough problems with the courts with the plus mags.

Anyone carry a +1 or +2 Glock 42 magazine? If so, what brand is it? Why do you trust it?
I use the Strike Industries +2 bottom plate. My testing shows that it's completely reliable. Note that SI +2 does not come with a spring. It uses the OEM spring instead, which is long enough to lift 8 rounds. Other extensions come with their own springs sometimes (I don't know about Taran, but Ghost does for sure). I actually bought a Ghost just so I have a longer spring if any unreliability surfaces, but there was no need to install it.

In just the past year, I found ETS 12-round magazines to be very reliable. So, I started using them for backup and only have 1 OEM magazine in the gun (although I only load 11 rounds, just in case). However, you do not need to search far before you see posters hating upon the ETS magazines. Not sure what to make of that. I do not think for 1 second that everyone is an idiot and I'm the smartest Glock shooter on the Internet. But perhaps I was lucky, or ETS improved their quality.

I'm with WeeWilly and Hexe9, the Magguts +1 for G42 mags are flawless. Seeing their posts and confidence in the past, I bought four kits and tested them extensively. Magguts work just as good as the original Glock follower/spring, and the magazines still seat easily when fully loaded. I use the +1 mag in my daily pocket carry G42. Eight rounds in a pocket handgun with no extra length is great.

Appreciate all of the responses. Seems like the magguts +1 is the most common/trusted method, and or the Pierce +1. Keeping my eyes open and only time will tell.

I had a G42 with night sights that I ended up trading towards a G43x and i regret it, it shot very well and was quite accurate. I didn't care for the G43X and got rid of it too, now I want the G42 back. I'm also interested in knowing about the higher mag capacity options.

Only way you'll really know is to test them out yourself.
Indeed. I'm currently leaning with staying put with my OEM mags, etc...
If it aint broke, why fix it? All of my OEM mags run flawless and I trust my life with them.
So to possibly interrupt that for one additional round is my concern. Time will tell.

The other thing is that extensions make the gun less concealable and that's the whole point of a G42 and I also think that while extra ammo is nice, what's more important is to have the determination to survive an armed encounter with only as many rounds as you have available.

If I'm carrying a 5 shot snubby I'm sure as Hell going to make those five shots count. And with a G42 you have seven shots and I want those seven shot to count and that's why I wouldn't carry a 380 unless it could reliably handle the Underwood Plus + 1200 fps 90 gain XTP's.

Indeed. I carry my G42 with the 6-round flush mount. My mag with the extension is my back-up.
I love the G42. It's with me now. Yesterday I had my G27 in my pocket. Ha. It works, but I need to tighten my belt more for sure.

But...in the meantime do you think you'll be able to walk the streets safely with that mere 6+1 load of mighty 380ACP devastation? :)

The persistent never-ending concerns for greater capacity seem to indicate that almost EVERY real-world citizen self-defense event requires emptying several magazines before resolution. In fact, the documented use of even a couple of rounds in such situations is almost nonexistent in the USA. It's the stuff of TV, movies, and internet and gun store Kommandos. :)

Look...if you are relying on 380ACP as your standard self-defense round then you have far more issues than magazine capacity. Most who rely on a 380ACP autopistol the size of a G42 would be better armed with the lighter Ruger LCR revolver....and get a better round (38SPL) in the upgrade.

I carry my G27 more often, actually. But on certain days, depending on how I'm dressed (it's hot here most of the year), I'll carry the G42. It's an awesome tool and the .380 is an awesome round. Besides, you're getting off topic. Not asking for your advice on a caliber choice. I'm talking to G42 owners and their experience with extended round option for our magazine.

but why not on the primary mag? Lack of complete trust? Or prefer the OEM flush mount mag for compactness?
I use my 42 for pocket carry at work. The Pearce +1 makes it a teeny bit harder to get out of the pocket. It also makes ir print just a bit more.
The two I have never failed in any way, they just don't conceal as good as the flat base plate.

Another hear for the Magguts or Pearce +1's.

I know it's apples to oranges but the LC9s in my Avatar has the Magguts +1 in 4 of its mags and I run the Pearce +1 pinky extensions on my G26 mags.

I really believe you would be happy with ether.

Dangit,,, yall gonna influence me into buying a G42 now. :D I keep making a list of pistols I want and that's all,, then hear another thread about a G42 pops up and I am wanting one. ;)

I think some folks might find compared to the Glock 42 the Ruger LCR and many of the sub-compact 9 mm semiautos are harder to shoot accurately. For those people it seems to me the 42 is a better choice for them.

In general, I think the best advice is for each person to carry the most powerful, highest capacity pistol with which they feel comfortable. For some people that means they carry the Glock 20 and for others a NAA PUG.

YMMV

I just tested Vickers +2 with various JHPs yesterday.
I still want to test a couple of different +P rounds, but so far my G42 (with DPM system) has been working flawlessly with MagGuts+1 and Vickers+2 shooting popular JHPs rounds in std. pressure.
