Any one here ever had Hard Chrome done on your
guns?. I really like the look of the brushed, and
seems to be a really good hard protective finish.
Thoughts or comments, thanks.

I had mine done by these guys about 6 yrs. ago... http://www.apwcogan.com/

About his chrome... http://www.apwcogan.com/plating-and-refinishing/finishes-metal-finishes.html

I only shipped them my slide... they did all the work, hard brushed chrome on the sides, matte on the top... took less than a month and I couldn't be happier for the price... then it was not even $100 bucks including shipping...

I then polished the frame pins to match...

eta: I found his current price list... at the bottom it talks about just doing a portion of a gun... for example a slide is 40% of list price for the gun ($170)... so to chrome a slide is $68 bucks... assuming it doesn't need any special work..

Sorry for my crappy pics., they don't do it justice, it's a combination of my crappy camera and pic. taking skills

i had a couple STIs hard chromed and liked it with no problems. last 1911 i did i had ion bond put on it. all in all i like black better than silver and the ion bond is suspose to be a long lasting durable finish. so far i've not used the 1911 since i switched to a open glock for this season.
