I picked up a brand new BG 2.0 a couple of days ago. Usually, with any new gun I purchase, I do my research concerning any issues with the gun, be it ammo or whatever. Well, this time, I just decided, based on the history of the BG, I'll just pick one up. Not until after I purchased it did I read that the 2.0 can have problems feeding flat-nosed or truncated cone-shaped bullets. Of course, for 380, I prefer Underwood's Extreme Defender ammo, specifically 68 +p and of course, I start reading about issues concerning that specific ammo feeding reliably with BG 2.0.
Anyway, I hit the range today with the following:
100 rounds of WWB 95gr FMJ
50 rounds of Fiocchi 90gr JHP
40 rounds of Federal HST 99gr JHP
40 rounds of Gold Dot 90gr JHP
40 rounds of Underwood Extreme Defender 68gr +p
40 rounds of Underwood Extreme Defender 69gr
The gun was lubed by me before the range, and I decided to start with the Fiocchi JHP. Initially, the Fiocchi would not feed, in any way, shape or form. So, I switched to the FMJ. First round out of the box it jam with a FTF. It would not feed this round at all. I look closely at the round and it looks like the edge of the casing is damaged. So I set that bullet aside and continue.
Then, like a miracle, the next 309 rounds run through my gun like butter. The JHP of Fiocchi, HST and Gold Dot, perfect. Lastly, the rounds I was worried about due to its design, ran without issue.
So, I'm going to run another 200 to 300 rounds through it, including more Extreme Defenders. If it runs fine, then I will carry it. Such an odd start but with a good finish.
The size, weight, ergo's, low recoil, makes this the best micro 380 I've ever owned. I'm so happy it cleared its issues and ran like a champion.
