I’ve seen this question come up a lot and I took the GLOCK Armorers course recently so I asked one of the instructors if or how someone can tour the GLOCK Factory. He said the only way would be to take the 2 day Advanced Armorers Course at their Home Office in Smyrna, Georgia. He said on the 2nd day they take the class on a tour of the new factory. He said you’ll get to see a polymer frame molded every 45 seconds! The place is almost 100,000 square feet. He said they are at max output, making 5000 guns per day! Oh and they have well over 1 million guns on back order. He said he doesn’t know what that means in terms of wait time but by my own calculations they are probably 8 to 9 months behind (and that’s assuming they are working almost 7 days a week at near full capacity all the time.

Now the prerequisite to the Advanced Armors Course is that you have to take the 1 day GLOCK Armors Course and get certified for 3 years. This is the kicker… you have to be certified for 2 years or longer before you can then take the Advanced Armorer course. I guess that will give us lots of time to plan our trip… Expense wise: (unless your LEO or military etc.) Join GSSF for 2 years $50, The 1 Day class is 195.00, the 2 Day class is $300 (and the certificate is good for 5 years), and Then add Travel expense: hotel costs, air fare, bus fair, gas, rental car, time off, etc.

So it comes down to it could be a very $ costly $ factory tour. FYI, There is Nothing to see in Smyrna other than GLOCK, a Park, and a Golf Course but don’t worry Atlanta is only a 25 min drive away!

Oh yeah they are backed up....I qualify for a Glock under the LEO/FD program and got an email that said it would take a minimum of seven months before it could be processed and shipped.
