Me, that is. Looking for deep concealment and I'm a chunky monkey kinda dude. Tossing about the two ideas for carry at work (there's a reason it needs to be concealed, leave it at that):
  • G42 pocket carry
  • G43 AIWB
My normal work attire is an untucked polo or long sleeve Carhartt/Columbia button down with Propper Tactical type pants. What can I say - they were good enough when I was an officer amd I'm very much a creature of habit.

Prefer 9mm, but dunno about the AIWB rig as a big guy. Comments - other than lose weight, lol.

Both those choices will carry the same, the below 👇 holster is good, but you might want to seriously consider a wedge. The tendency for the gun to “roll” outward and print is high, and actually worse with smaller guns as the holster isn’t that far down into your pants to lever the grip back towards you.

counterpoint to your choices, as a somewhat chunky man myself, airweight j-frame/Taurus 856 etc. The natural curve of the grip sits on top of the belt line, where most semi autos have to be carried with the grip almost below belt line….making them a ***** to draw. I can carry an airweight in a plain (cheap) kydex or leather holster and it will have 0 print….my semi’s all require wedges/70$+ holsters to even come close, and aren’t nearly as comfortable to wear.

Haha. You aren't that fat. I've broken bread with you. If someone is really fat thwy can just put it between rolls (yes I've seen that)

Yeah, I saw that article too - SHE smuggled a pistol into a sporting event in her rolls...

I've got my 'male menopause' belly, and it covers the G26 or G19/26 (Custom Grip Chop) just fine, and carries like a dream...

For the OP - Check out the Vanguard system on Amazon or their home site: VanGuard 2 Standard Kit - IWB Minimalist Holster

There was a officer (not me) that arrested this big ole gal. Searched her, another officer transported so also searched. Jail staff then searched. After all that she asked if she needed to give them her gun and removed a loaded 6 inch smith 686 357 mag from her fat rolls.

Believe it or not, bigger pistols AIWB better, and most importantly, more comfortably, than small pistols, due to the greater surface area and distribution of weight, and the amount of gun below the beltline.

Almost everything about AIWB is the exact opposite of OWB/IWB.

If you're chubby/fat, then your gut is going to drive the muzzle of your gun into your groin or inguinal fold, especially when sitting or bending over, depending on the how you carry. This causes a painful burning ache regardless of foam wedge or pillow on the holster.

I’m chubby, 5’10 220lbs, mostly belly fat. I carry a Ruger LC9S Pro in a Recluse cargo pocket holster in my work pants, (Propper 5.11 and LA Police Gear). It stays put and looks like I have a notepad in my pocket.

If I’m going out and don’t want to have any holster belt hardware showing I carry my Glock 32 and a spare mag in my Smart Carry set up. Once you find your sweet spot it’s very comfortable all day long.

A .357 Sig....really?

Odd caliber choices aside, how is draw speed from that rig? I'd rather buy a new holster than a gun, new ammo, AND new holster. I know that sounds weird, but the farm requires money and I've plenty of guns for self-defense. Not "enough", because that's never a thing...but I've got what I need.

IIRC, a G32 is the same frame size as a G19. I've got that, a 17, and a 27 available. The G40 probably would draw some attention, lol. How comfortable is your 32 in that holster?

“That’s a HUUGE b****!” 🤣

I have a beer gut, weigh around 240, i daily carry a FN 509 compact in a Tier 1 Xiphos elite AIWB holster, if i'm going to be sitting for a long time, i have to pull the holster up to get comfortable, then slide it back down when i stand.

I have been doing the low carb diet - I am down 30 pounds.

Lately if a CC all day - P365 IWB at 3:30-4:00 it starts to feel uncomfortable. The other day my daughter and I took a walk and about half way through my gun started digging into my side.

Before the weight loss I would go the whole day and didn't even really notice the difference - like the gun was not even there.

I think it may be I have been tightening my belt up tighter so my pants don't fall down.

The holster is leather and has the piece between me and the top of the slide so it is not like the slide is touching my skin.

I am hoping I just adjust and get use to it. Other wise I will need to go holster shopping.

It’s the same size as a 19 but I like the .357 Sig round. I have more .357 Sig guns than any other caliber. It’s comfortable in the smart carry but it’s not a quick draw. I’ve never timed it but it’s slower than if I have it in a IWB at 4 o’clock. However there is zero print to it.

Isn’t that what the belly band was designed for?

Not that odd. FWLIW I carry a G27, 23 and a Steyr S40, M40 converted to 357 SIG. I also carry a G29 converted to 357 SIG. Which very pleasant to shoot
