My dad picked up a few sets of these at a local gun show and gave me a few to test and see what they did. As you can see in the second shot of the video, at impact there is an initial spark, and then about 10 feet away or so there is an actual blast. Is there any practical use for these other than fun factor?

Yes, starting forest fires - which is why most ranges ban incendiary rounds.

Just to be clear, I was shooting at an outdoor range and it had been raining and snowing earlier that day and the ground was soaked for the most part.
Dunno... my range allows Tannerite, full auto weapons including mini-guns, .50 cal rounds, and cannons, but not tracers or this type of projectile - even in the Florida monsoon season. An errant round can travel a couple of miles where something is more than dry enough to cause problems.

So there you go. Shoot something with them, and a forest fire will start.

Rmember that if you carry them for SD, stay far away from forest.
Oh, and don't even think of carrying those in 10mm, otherwise every forest in the state will catch fire.

Those seem like they're fun for s***s and giggles, but I wouldn't use them in a self defense situation, or any other situation other than a range.

Agreed that for other than the fun factor there isn't much of a reason for them.

Well, I suppose if there were reason to neutralize a target with "extreme prejudice"? :whistling:

...and attorneys for the victim. "He was such a good boy, and this maniac shot exploding bombs at my poor baby...".

I think SARDG nailed it pretty well. :whistling: I WOULD NOT load them into my gun & or magazine, untill I was at the range & ready to shoot.

Like your video shows, they'd probably be a lot of fun to shoot, but I'd be REALLY careful where I did shoot them.

Got over that when I was 17.
