Are they hinting it’s a Glock produced item, or something they’ve made as a their own clone concept?

Thank you.... A 26 with a 19 or 17 grip is just plain stupid. It should be the other way around, but hey, it's a Glock. Fanboys will sing the praises and run out and buy anything and everything Glock release whether it makes sense or not. They might as well release a 43xl and 48xl too with a 43 and 48 slide with a 26 grip and mag. I seriously bet everyone would justify why it's the greatest thing since sliced bread while tripping over themselves to buy one.

Man, having a G26 slide with a G19 grip frame (and magazine) wouldn't interest me in the slightest. If I wanted a G19 grip frame I'd buy a G19. :p

Of course, there are always those gun owners who like to see gun companies mix and match. S&W offered a limited number run of the 5903SSV. The SSV stood for Short Slide Variation. That was an early 3rd gen 5903 (full-size) frame, with a carbon steel compact 6904 slide (3.5" barrel). It may have been a Lew Horton run.

Now, for belt guns, a long slide can be an issue for some folks. Especially for duty weapons. The G45 was a nice 'answer' for agencies wanting the G17's grip and magazine capacity, but not the G17 slide/barrel length. The G19 length slide/barrel was plenty for duty roles.

Does a purported G26X answer the same question, though?

The better question might be whether a special vendor run would sellout and make it worthwhile to deny the production time to another model. ;)

Taurus makes the G3X which is the same concept as a 26x, and sells tons of them because they're 250 bucks. They look weird with the "full size" frame and little stubby slide but there's a market for it

I don't see how sticking a 19 mag in a 26 is any different, Glocks are tools and can be easily adapted.
The G2c/G3c is almost a 26x in itself, the G3X is more like a 26 slide on a 17 frame, I only say that because I have a G3c and the grip is a good bit longer than the 26, closer to a 19 grip but only holds 12 rounds. There's a guy on ebay that makes flat bases for the G3c mags, thought about trying them but I rarely ever carry my G3c.
