In the market for my first firearm, i have shot and handle different ARs and handguns and have pretty decent knowledge, Im looking to buy a 19x but when i called my local gun store they told me they were only for Law Enforcement. Ive been doing research on the 19x and i didnt see anything about this, and im military. Can someone confirm or deny this for me please.

The way California flip flop in firearm ounership, soon if your caught with CIPY OF GUN AND AMMO.

penalty could be 29’years in State Pennetentry.

If this is going to be your first firearm I would suggest a regular 19. Your first problem is getting any 19 xyz at all, and if you're going to carry it you more than likely, with time, opt for the shorter grip for easier concealment. I just wouldn't limit myself to the X, especially with the 10 rd limitation.

Good luck.

Just get it before you get to CA. Make sure the magazines are converted to 10 rounds before you cross state lines.

If you try and get it via your military status while here in CA, which is not impossible by the way you're only going to run into FFL problems willing to deal with it.

The semantics only prevent one from buying a non roster gun from an FFL. It has to be private party transfer or a few other narrow windows. If you are not in CA now, this is your window of opportunity to buy it or anything else you might want down the road.

What is absolutely against the law is threaded barrels on semi auto pistols with removable magazines, and 11+ magazine capacity.

I have to go to California sometime soon for a family business matter. While I could have taken my 442 or Springfield Loaded to comply with their idiotic gun laws, I ended up buying a Glock G19.5 10 round mag so I could bring that firearm instead (which has night sights and a TLR-7A WML). Once I'm done with this business matter, I will never go there again. I hate that GD state. I may even have a Glock 19.5 10 round mag for sale after... ;)
