Hey guys, I'd like to mount a light with pressure switch to my 10/22.

Any recommendations on a barrel band with rail from which to mount the light?

I have the one listed in the link above and it has a TLR-1 on it with sling swivel mounted on the left rail and it is wonderful set up. I dont use a remote pad switch because it's simply not needed for me. But this is a great peice. Made of thick strong aluminum.

Are you sure it's the same one listed above? The description of the one at the link says it is made of nylon, not metal. I have this one:

which is a metal one made by ProMag. The trade-off is one less rail, but a built-in rattle-proof sling loop. I generally like it, but it isn't perfect for my intended use, and one of the things I wanted to use it for was to mount a light.

First, every edge on the darn thing was sharp enough to shave with; it took me a couple of hours to de-burr and refinish it. Second, the side rail is shorter than the bottom rail, so some accessories (like a TLR-1) won't mount very securely on the side rail. The bottom rail is longer, so I generally use that one. I've used a TLR-3 on it (shorter light, shorter mounting rails), but I'm still not quite as happy with the combo as I'd like to be.

Finally, the rail is not tight to the stock of the gun (bottom rail is worse than the side rail in this regard), and the gap between the rail and the stock, in combination with the added height of the rocker switch levers on the rear of the light, makes for a long stretch to use it. A tape or other remote switch would help in this area.

Hmm.... upon closer inspection I'm not sure either of those will work.

My 10/22 is wearing a Butler Creek folding stock and it has a sling mount right behind the barrel band.

A barrel mounted rail might be the only way to go.

Any known options?

It depends on what you mean by "will work."

I also have the Butler Creek folder on my 10/22, with this barrel band installed. The mounting rail is low enough that the swivel stud (by itself) will not interfere with operation of the light. On the other hand, you won't be able to use the swivel stud with the light installed, but you don't have to use the stud at all with this set-up, as there is a fixed sling loop on the other side of the barrel band.

FWIW,

I've used this scope mounted light at times.

You could also just mount a piece of rail to your stock.

Standard 18.5" carbine barrel. You can't go much shorter than that in a BC folding stock and stay legal, unless you want to go the SBR option under the NFA.

Your right, thats not mine. Mine is aluminium and it came from brownells and it looks just like that one. I didn't read the description after visiting the link because it looks just like mine. I wouldn.t use a polymer mount but the aluminium one is really great. It would also work with the polymer folder UNLESS it has a heavy barrel. Thanks for the heads up...
