The gun the Russkies call the "Dashika", DShK, developed before World War II and now replaced by the NSV, also in 12.7mm x 108. The Americans call it the .51 caliber during the Vietnam War. According to a Knob Creek account (ChowChow, have you been there? Machine guns galore!), it was louder than a Browning .50 cal. What they fired was Chinese-made, formerly serving on top of an Iraqi tank in 1991, and an actual Vietnam veteran.:)

There's a bigger one, the 14.5mm KPVT, standard turret machinegun of Russian BTR APCs.
 
There may have been some miniguns left in Vietnam, the ones used in helicopters. So if you happen to be there and bring back one...but then sinong sasagot sa ammo?:supergrin:
