Anyone have the end all be all on these mags? Hard to source a definitive answer on them.

Thinking about taking all my random 1911 mags and trading them out for new ones all of the same type:

Checkmate makes the Ed Brown 1911 mags. Checkmate makes the OE mags for most 1911 manufacturers. Checkmate mags are generally known to be a quality product.

I took advantage of this trade-in deal just a couple years back. I had some old USGI mags and got maybe 15? (Not exactly sure) Ed Brown 8-rounders with the extended removable base. They are very high quality and have strong springs. I also believe they are made by Checkmate. They have hybrid feed lip design that many people like, but I discovered my pistols do not. They didn’t get much, if any, use and have been sitting in the closet. I have a good stock of Wilson ETM and Vickers magazines that work well for me. I wish I had known about the feed lip design before I got them. I have 10 Checkmate 7-round flush-fit hybrid feed lip magazines that I got on a group buy at another 1911 focused forum. They are great quality magazines, but my pistols do not work well with hybrid feed lips. The straight wadcutter style feed lip magazines work great for me. YMMV.
