I just put a new slide parts kits in my G19 Gen4. Everything on the slide appears to be working fine when I get it on the frame, it will rack enough to set the trigger, but it will not go back far enough to engage the slide lock or capture a round from the magazine correctly. It only needs to go 1/8" to 1/4" further to accomplish both. Anyone had this issue? What is the fix?

What parts did you put in
Extractor, safey plunger and spring, channel liner, firing pin and sleeve, plunger, plunger spring, and plastic end, backplate, and barrel spring. I bought the frame then bought a new Brownells RMR cut slide for it. I have an Apex trigger in it. Last night I tried changing the trigger housing, a different firing pin... WhenI look into the chamber when I have it racked back as far as it will go, the slide lock it about 1/4" from
Did the one you took off work?
Bought frame separately from slide

Make sure the safety plunger and spring are able to fully compress and that there isn't any gunk in that cavity. I had a similar experience after getting an OEM slide milled and nitrided. Found some crusty stuff in the cavity that prevent the safety plunger from fully depressing. I disassembled it, did a quick cleanout, and all was good.

Just from the pics, you have a mishmash of non-Glock parts that are thrown together and it could be one or multiple reasons in combination why it does not work - everything on it from the slide inwards could be a suspect, even parts in the frame.

If you have another gun LIKE this, try the slide on it and see if it operates properly.

Thanks, I will try that.

The safety pin was definitely not compressing completely. I cleaned it out once. There was gunk in there. Reassbled and did not work.
I will try again
