45/19X.

The 19 stock is about 1/4” too short for me. Just statically shooting at the range it does not present a problem. Going for the holster under the clock and it’s obvious it’s a BIT too short.

I don’t find the 45 difficult to conceal carry at all. Even compared to the 19 and I often appendix carry. Just move the larger pistol to the right a bit. Done.

Since I have more of my hands/ALL of my hands in the stock I shoot it better than a 19.

Compared to a 17... I like how the 45/19X FEELS but I do not know how that translates to timed drills. 25 yard shooting should be a little easier with the 17 (all other things being equal).

I will likely purchase a Gen5 17 next year but it will likely be cut for an ACRO P-2. But it might be a Model 45. Not sure.

The reverse - 19 frame and 17 slide makes little sense. Less grip to hang onto and a heavier slide. Nope.

I just traded off my 19 Gen5 MOS for a 45 MOS today, will get the 45 in a few weeks when it comes in. Right after I bought the 19 MOS almost 3 years ago, the 45 came out in MOS which is the model I really wanted. Finally decided to just trade for what I wanted and will put my light and RMR on the 45.

I thought I would CCW my 19 but found I seldom ever carried it, the 42 is way better for me and I carry it exclusively. The 45 will be what the 19 became, my home defense weapon.

When I was in LE many years ago, I carried a 19, then later the same sized 23. Were the perfect sized guns back then but if the 45 had been around that's what I would have had, with the light AND RMR.

I have both a gen3 G19 and a gen5 G45. In CO (my primary residence), the maximum capacity mag you can use is 15 rounds, so the G19 gets the nod for CC. In WA (my secondary residence) I will carry my G45 when I receive my CLP. Carrying OWB is no problem in fall and winter, but for spring and summer carry, I'll use a G43x in an IWB for CC. For that, Shield 2.0 15-rd mags work just fine with the Shield metal mag release.

I have an issued G45, a personal G45, a 19X, and a G19/5. I carried a G19/3 for years. No complaints. I prefer the G45. The grip feels much better to me and 2 extra rounds is not much but it's something. The only thing the G45 gives up to the G19 is slightly better concealability.

FWIW my (100 sworn) department prefers the full size frame to the compact, even most of those with smaller hands. We originally went with the G19 (about 2011-2020, and the G22 prior to that 1999-2011) because we thought that officers who did not want to buy a dedicated off-duty gun could use the G19 for both on and off duty. But the majority prefers the full size, hence the switch to the G45.

The shorter slide (on either model) is easier to present from a high ride holster, doesn't dig into the seat as deep, and feels more maneuverable around close proximity obstacles like the steering wheel, A-pillar, and door frames.

I would be happy with either but the G45 (full size) grip feels better to me.

G45 for me. I have no problem concealing it. I also have no objection to the G19…although my next purchase may well be a G32.

The rear of the 19s grip ends at a spot in my hand that causes it to nose up on presentation; not so with a 17/45 or a 26. Those point normally.
For that reason, and the “feel” of the 45 being better than the 19, I choose the 45.
Someone mentioned shorter barrel sticking into a patrol car seat and although I no longer drive a patrol car 12 hrs a day, I can see that as a plus.

Going with the 19. I own 4, and only 1 G45.

While I do like the G45, not really enough there to persuade me to go with it over the 19. It does feel both better shooting and in the hand than the 19, but the 19 is more suited for CC, so a lot are going to go with the 19 based on that parameter over the 45.
That’s exactly my feeling as well. I do shoot the G45/19X a little better. Probably something to do with more meat on the grip. But between the two, G19 hands down.

I agree I liked the Grooves on My Gen 4 34 and the 21 But not the 19. I wanted to liek the 19 but the grooves took up too much area on the grip for my pinky to fit. Without the grooves. Perfect.
I don’t have an issue with the grooves unless I’m wearing gloves. Even then, it’s a minor thing in terms of a cramped grip feel. Doesn’t really impact how I shoot.

A shorter hand doesn’t seem like it would be impacted by a longer grip as much as a larger hand by a smaller grip.
I go back to the 19 sitting weirdly in my hand and pointing slightly high while the larger 17 and smaller 26 size grips point where I need them.

A lot of lawmen like the G45 or G19x. That's not me.

I carry either G17 or G19, depending on how I'm dressed. The limiting factor is how much the butt sticks out, for printing. To me the G45 would be the worst of both worlds; prints like G17 but is short like G19.

Now, if Glock made the opposite: G17 length slide, G19 length grip . . . . "Gaston, are you listening?"
Bowie Tactical has what you want!

Depends on the expected role it is to fill.
100%.
I have both.
The question is, “For what?”
As known.
The 19 is a tad easier to conceal.
The 45 is my favorite Glock.

Or.
A 19 slide on a 26 frame.
