I tried the Shield Arms metal mag catch/release. Big fan of the 15rd mags, they have been reliable, but not a fan of the metal release. The mags seem eager to pop out with a very light push of the button.
Current plan: Test to determine approx how many rounds it takes to noticeably degrade or break the OEM plastic catch with the metal mags. Change the catch preemptively at half of that number. Once I'm done testing, would expect to see 1k - 1.5k rounds a year. If I'm changing it at (guestimate) 500 rounds, that's $15, maybe $20 out of my pocket a year? Totally doable in my book to be able to put 15 rounds in this little pistol.
Anyone tested this out or know of links/articles that discuss this point in more detail? Any other wear areas of concern now that these have been out for a while?
Also, can someone confirm the Glock OEM magazine release for the G43 fits the G43X? Like this one? https://ghostinc.com/g43-oem-reversable-magazine-catch/
Thanks GT
