I can almost guarantee I know what most of you will say to this question. I live in NY, with a 10rd limit. I like glocks and want a glock. I'm debating between these 2. To start off, I do not carry my firearm very often and mainly due to the absolutely terrible laws in NY. With that said my main reason for considering the 26 is because of its ease of concealability vs the 19. I will admit I did own a 26 for a little bit but wasn't a huge fan of the short grip. I seemed to shoot it well but I didn't shoot it much because I didn't care for the grip, I wanted a longer grip. So i sold it. I believe I could get over the feel of the shorter grip if I try it again. I know the g19 is almost pointless because of limiting to 10rd mags which is what the 26 has. But I do like the fuller grip and in the hand it feels better than the short grip of the 26. What I want out of a gun is easy to shoot well, reliable, and I MAY carry it on occasion. I can guarantee I won't carry either during the summer months as I believe either would be too much for the clothing I wear. As said I like the full grip of the 19 just sucks losing 5 rounds and having the same capacity of the 26. I also really would like to get a gen 5 version which they don't have in a 26 yet. I also do like the option of a rail on the 19 for a light for using during home defense situations. Which would you recommend and why? Also I may not live in NY forever so the 19 would become more relavent then

If I lived in a jurisdiction that limited me to 10+1 rounds in a handgun, my list of candidates would be

1) G-26
2) HK P2000sk LEM (or P30sk if that's your preference)
3) single stacks, i.e. 1911, Sig P220, P225, P239, Glock 36, Glock 43, etc

I wouldn't buy a gun for carry with wasted space in the grip. You can get a full grip on the G26 using a Pearce extender and keep the short backstrap that helps the G26 conceal better than the 19.

I live in ny state and own both the 26 and 19. If i could only have one it would be the 26 for sure but i have no problem with the grip. You didnt like the grip so i would recommend the 19. You dont plan on carrying it anyway. The ten rd limit sucks but in reality a few ten rd mags should get you by for home defense plus the 19 allows for an attched pistol light. My two cents lol

Out of all my Glocks I shoot my G26 gen4 the best. Its also my favorite Glock. IMO the G26 can do it all. Change mags to a G17 or a G19 and you have a very good H/D gun if you move out of NY. I've always said a G26 with a G19 mag in the pocket is a hard CC hand to beat.

G19 was my first Glock followed by a G26. Big respect for the G19. I found that after training routinely with the G26 I came to shoot it better then the G19. I just find the G26 to be that perfect combination of concealment, shootability and capacity. So my vote would be the G26.

I say 19. Like Colonel said.

I lived in the калифорния републик for a number of years and was fortunate to get a concealed in (Tulare) County and we were limited to 10 rounds. I was also fortunate to purchase a Gen 4 19.

But I did travel out-of-State (like Nevada) where I had non-resident NV ccw. A couple of years later, I moved from the калифорния републик to Nevada and never looked back.

10 rounds mags are used at the range or when I visit, 15 rounders are what I carry, and 33 rounders are what I use for HD.
