After stepping away from the internet for a few weeks to focus on finishing up my B.A. (13 days left in my final class and HOPEFUL 15 NOV conferral), I have had several new things arise in my world and it looks as though Florida LE is not going to happen. Without going too far into depth in the public view, has anyone attended the FLETC UPTP or CITP in the past few months? I'd like to get some insight about some future options which are quickly becoming reality.

I haven't attended either one but I have passed most of my prerequisites for several prospects which will have me attending one or the other
Bug spray and permethrin if you're going into the woods. More importantly; sunscreen, a good beach chair and a cooler, St Simons is 20 minutes from the front gate and where you'll spend most off duty time.
Avoid the g bar, the red carpet and getting to the cafeteria after the BOP classes.

FLETC last September for a specialty school. Bring Avon Skin So Soft!!! The only thing the sand gnats really hate.
G-bar is lame, Red Carpet more lame! Pam's No. 1 visit a must! Be prepared for "children" whooping at up at all hours, especially Fri and Sat nights! Food is top notch, plan to moderate as it is really easy to gain weight!
Oh yes! GORETEX or several pairs of boots! Rained almost every day!

Well... after a long while I have my Final Job Offer in hand. I have resigned my current Active Duty position and report to FLETC in a few weeks for UPTP. From initial offer to start date will be 366 days.
I'm ready for the change but am quite a bit nervous.

Best to you! I have been several times to Georgia and Artesia! Today I left my current office, and will transfer next week to a different job. Also, left 27 years of a tactical team that I started in 1990. ( yes I am that old )

Congrats!
I made it to a TO with HSI as an 1811 and a few weeks before FLETC, oBummer slashed the DHS budget to ribbons and I got sacked since I wasn't a VRA applicant.
It always bugged me that I never made it to an investigations gig. I finally got the opportunity and start in a full time agent position at the state level on Monday. Best of luck at FLETC!

And even that they still waited for 2.5 years to start the process again. They were going to have us do everything over again. I had already transitioned and passed.

Yep, pure insanity. I got the recruiting e-mails from my local SAC. I thought about reaching out and seeing if they would direct hire me rather than having to go to the SWB, then I came to my senses and realized I would be wasting my time. :rofl:
I get redoing the medical. 2.5 years had passed and they are only good for a year. I also get updating the background (which should take about 5 minutes). But redoing the entire background and having to re-interview? Then wait another how many months etc? A lot changed in the intervening 2.5 years and it just didnt fit anymore.
