I have yet to call CS from Glock or HK so don't really care much about that. In fact I have only ever called one gun manufacturer, S&W, and that was just to lookup how a used M&P frame left the factory because I was having trouble fitting a barrel and came to find out it was a 10mm frame/locking block that someone stuck a .45 upper on. If something needs replacing I source parts and replace myself. I guess I would have to say HK is a better pistol in my case because I have yet to need any HK replacement parts but have needed a few Glock parts.

So what did you need to replace on the HK and why?

I’ve not had to use Glock CS yet, unless Glockstore is part of them. Sent me wrong item, replaced it with correct one on reporting it and told me to keep incorrect item.

Dan Wesson back about 2015, bought Guardian in .38s. Couldn’t get through one full magazine without failure to feed. Contacted DW, sent me shipping form via email to return. Recut feed ramp, changed link to different size, returned in less than two weeks. Couple thousand flawless rounds since.

Sig back when P365 released. No longer remember the issue, but spent about 15 pleasant minutes on phone with CS, and they corrected the issue I was having.

Those are the only two CS issues I’ve had with all the brands of firearms I’ve bought. Both times were the type of CS I’d expect for something you can’t return to place of purchase and you can’t check full functionality until after you’ve signed paperwork forbidding return.

Never tried HK, though I will admit the lever magazine release and hammer fired polymer has intrigued me.

I need a backstrap. The small one does not fit my large hands. The medium backstrap that came with the gun is out of spec and will not work. I called them three times about it and could never get anyone on the phone. Then I ordered one from their site and it came in looking like someone had stuck it on the eye of a stove and the package it came in was melted. Not sure it it was a chemical spill or the FedEx truck caught on fire or it was somehow drug down a shipping dock by a forklift. I reached out again and still no acknowlegdement. I am a patient person. I’ve been an outside sales rep for 32 years. I get manure happens and I deal with CS issues a few times a week.

The pistol is flawless and accurate. It shoots well. I like it. I’ve been buying guns since age 14 where I gave my father the money. I bought my first by myself at age 18, almost 42 years ago. I have had real problems with firearms and little nagging quirks like this before. I have owned or own products from or marketed by Iver Johnson, Browning, Glock, Century Arms, Smith and Wesson, Beretta, Sig Sauer, CZ, Marlin, Glock, Tanfoglio/EAA, Beretta, Kahr, Remington, Del-Ton, Stag Arms, Winchester, Benelli, Colt, Ruger, Springfield Armory, Taurus, Star, Norinco, Magnum Research, FN, DPMS, KelTec, Zastava and Walther. I’ve never had any issues with customer service until HK. I have had defective products but the companies have responded——-all of them——Kahr, Sig Sauer, Smith and Wesson and EAA. I’ve had questions and it didn’t take several days to get an answer.

I know I should be grateful that HK would even allow me to buy their superior products at a much higher price point and go away. I have taken care of the problem. As long as I can get parts like RSA’s etc. from a retailer, I will keep it. If for whatever reason, I cannot go to HK Parts or Brownells, etc., I will sell it. I won’t be buying anymore HK products. I know who they are.

I’m sorry OP. No disrespect at all but… never had an issue with any HK. I’m in pretty deep with them too. Not quite enough info here.
No need for apologies. I am not a nagger or a tiddie baby. I have been in sales all my life. I get companies are understaffed and it’s hard to find good help these days. Just communicate. Tell me to go away, hello, kiss my ass, something.

Come to think of it, they did tell me something——go to hades. 😂 At the end of the day there are far more important things in live to worry about. It did shock my considering they cost $200 or $300 more than a run of the mill Glock.

Communication is absolutely key to most everything. I am sorry to hear that didn’t happen. 100% agreed with your complaint there.
Best wishes to getting it all fixed up, good to go and be done with the hassle you’ve dealt with.

I have quite a few HK pistols, never ever one malfunction, never a broken part, never had to call or use their customer service.

Thank you for this post….you may have saved me from making the huge mistake of ever buying another one! Plus, they’re so ugly!

Are those sights pinned in or can you change them with a sight pusher?

I believe the lesson is to deal with a second party source. This minor issue is resolved and I have moved on. ‘Probably should not have posted it in the first place.

HK USP .40, P30 9mm, P30 .40, P30L 9mm, P30L .40, P2000 9mm, P2000 .40, P2000sk 9mm. Never had a single problem out of any of them. Parts can be scarce usually involving a wait if ordered from HK USA, bite the bullet and buy from HKParts and pay the premium to get them faster.

HK is far superior to Glock hands down.

Glock 19, 19c, 19.5, 20, 20c, 22, 22c, 23, 23c, 45.5.
All run great but the build quality is nothing like HK.

My $0.02.

HK makes an excellent product. I would contend it is superior to Glock. I’ve bought (3)——an HK P30S .40, a VP9 and and HK45C. All are flawlessly reliable, accurate and danged good shooters——they’re overbuilt.

If you’re a civillian, HK Customer service couldn’t care less. I’ve had two events recently and both were handled or are being handled terribly. How sad. I’m glad I found out so I can prevent others from making the same three mistakes I did.

I’ll stick with my Glocks and being able to call into Customer Service the first time, deal with the issue and then shoot the bull about shooting with a rep for a few seconds versus calling a company that asks top dollar for their product for multiple days and holding 20 to 40 minutes at a time then still not getting anyone.

Now I understand why a clearly better product does not have the presence of Glock or Sig or Beretta in the US. It’s about more than price.
It sounds like HK customer service is giving you a hard time and laughing at you. Maybe they should be called Heckle and Chuckle for the way they treat their customers. :(

Can’t disagree, because I’ve yet to own an HK. I’d likely buy one like post #28 if I was in the market for a new gun. .40 is my favorite caliber.

However, like you, never an issue with my Glocks, and I can hit what I’m shooting at, as well as get parts immediately if the need ever arises.

And I’m pretty sure, I can buy almost 2 Glocks for the price of 1 HK. For sure 3 Glocks for the price of 2 HKs. I also see the factory magazines are almost double the price of Glocks. I’m guessing parts have similar price differences.

Now, not saying this is a bad thing, as I own a couple of Wilson 1911s. Just saying comparing HK to Glock is not an apples to apples comparison. For the HK prices, there “should” be better fit and finish than a Glock!

I have several HKs, and frankly I don’t much like them. I’ll never part with any, but they remain in the safe generally.

Of them, I prefer the P2000 V3 in .40 S&W.

Glock is one of those good enough guns that gives you what you need and nothing else.
They do however, have excellent CS.

I just ordered an HK and from everything I've ever heard about their customer service, I hope I don't need to use it.
