What are the best high end forged slide and frame 1911's money can buy ? Alchemy , Cabot , Ed Brown , Les Baer , Nighthawk , Springfield EMP , Wilson Combat , etc. ? ... *I don't care about gold plated bling or engravings - just the best classic 1911's of highest quality and reliability money can buy in a semi custom , custom design . What are your thoughts and experiences on the subject ?

Wilson Combat is hard to beat IMO. (Not mine)

*Precisely what I would look for in a top quality 1911 : All forged , No slide or other "bling" , no front serrations and no rail with all of the perfect hardware (including front strap checkering) - this is a classic , yet exquisite 1911 !! ... I am sure there are other similar representations .

I would say it depends on budget and intent of use.

I am a big follower of Wilson Combat Supergrade guns. You can have almost everything you want or everything you don't want. You can omit darn near everything on the gun and then start placing things how and where you want it.

On the other hand, heirloom precision gets my vote also. Those pieces are like works of art.

Then there are guns that a few and waaaay far between. I have shot 1911s coming out of the USMC small arms precision weapons shop and some done up by Larry Vickers.

It comes down to me shooting a bunch of different 1911s of all makes and all budget levels to find my sweet spot. Everyone's spot will be different.

I worked as a Pistolsmith at Wilsons early 2000's. One guy there (Jim Wilson) built all the Supergrades. He had never worked any where else. He went to Machinist school right after HS and went to work at Wilsons.
Every morning he had to work his hands to loosen them from years of checkering and running files.
The guy was skilled, exceptionally so.
He knew every dimension of every part and would use a dial on every part and pin.
His barrel fitting skills would time the lock up and link fit to perfection.
No tooling marks or imperfections could be found on his builds. We worked 4 tens a week. I worked across from his bench for several years.
The guy did not talk. His mind and attention was focused on his work.
The guy is a machine!
Start to finish usually took him up to two weeks, 80 hours to build a Supergrade.
Bill Wilson would come back and look at Jims finished product looking for a flaw. He would handle and manipulate the pistol and after 5 mins or so would just stare and walk away.
That meant even Bill was impressed and would say something like "Wow" and go back his office.
Wilson Supergrade Man!👍

All the ones you named! Oh, plus Atlas!!

Clutch, are you planning on actually shooting it? or put it under a bell jar purged with Nitrogen? Atlas Gunworks Athena, about $7K.
*No choot it ! , choot it ! ... A safe Queen that will get shot at the range for when I want the nicest 1911 shooting experience . For gun games and such with holstering / unholstering - I'd look for something like a Springfield Garrison with a little trigger and accurizing work done to it . If a Garison gets a few wear marks I wouldn't mind .

*This bottom 1911 almost looks like a 3-D Printed 1911 without rear slide serrations !
Definitely not. If it's mall-ninja to have extra slide serrations, I figure it's anti-mall-ninja to have none.

I find Wilson's to usually be ugly. With fudd like features. (3 hole triggers)

Guncrafter Industries is more my style.
I wanted a Wilson Supergrade No Name LoL.

Carry it! You can always get it refreshed whenever it shows some wear if you want.
