For those who have the Sub 2K, what are the necessary changes that you recommend?

These are what I’m considering from MCarbo

Feed ramp, Stainless Steel

Trigger guard, aluminum

Trigger

Trigger springs

Trigger bar

Hardened screws

Anything else?

What I always when this comes up. Go to the Kel-Tec Owner's Group, KTOG for short. Friendly people over there and they are into modding.

My Gen 2 Sub-2000's have all the above except the trigger bar. I consider those essentials for the Sub-2000's. Also added the Red Lion fore-end.

One of my Sub-2000's ended up with a metal rear sight too since I broke one of the factory plastic sight tabs upon reassembly.

So the trigger bar Is not necessary?

I thought of polishing or lightly sanding the edges similar to what the MCARBO design has.

I didn't think it was necessary but my budget may have been the deciding factor at the time too. I got this kit from Mcarbo:

KEL-TEC SUB-2000 Pro Performance Trigger Job Bundle

None of these are necessary. It's not a target gun. The only thing necessary to make it shootable are taller sights or a red dot. I mounted a red dot on a Midwest Industries pivoting mount. The stock sights were just too short and uncomfortable for me.

True. I just don’t want parts breaking on me.

I have two Gen 2 models that use G17 mags, one in FDE and on in OD. First off, I very much like both PCC's.

No aftermarket stuff is 'needed'. My FDE model shot just fine without anything done to it. However, some stuff is nice to have and I added the buffer tube cover and the recoil pad inside so that it was softer shooting against my cheek. It worked. The OD model came with that stuff and the two finger charging handle. The two finger charging handle is also very nice to have and I consider it a plus. The other stuff you listed is nice to have but not a necessity. It is a fun gun to tinker with as long as function is maintained.

A SS Feedramp isn’t necessary?

I don't have an aftermarket feed ramp on either one of mine, just stock and they shoot great. A SS ramp is nice and maybe somewhere down the road after a lot of rounds maybe? I'd like to see round counts both ways.

Nope. I also added the buffer tube cover and the above pad. Save your money because the SS Feedramp sounds like a ship name from Star Trek and is not needed for the Sub2k.

Thanks.

After reading all of the suggestions.

Looks like all I need are the Bolt tube cover and buttstock attachment.

More money for ammo.

my S2K is bone stock and i have never had any issues with it. i'm not sure how people use to live with only stock weapons to shoot without having all this crap around to spend money on thats not needed.

if i had to buy a gun and then put a bunch of tactical crap on it just to be able to use it, i probably don't need that gun.
