OK, I believe that I have spent adequate time searching for previous threads, prior to starting a new one. If I failed, please forgive me.

Yesterday, I was wearing my Glock Sport Holster with a 27 in it, left side about 0830. I noticed that the front of the holster was sagging, taking the belt down with it, because the next forward belt loop was in front of the opening for the front pocket. That is quite a distance to support a gun and holster. I cinched my belt (Cabela's Last Chance nylon) tighter, but it did not help. I changed belts, to a heavy, leather belt, but the only change was that the leather belt supported the sag better, but still sagged. I looked at several different brands of jeans and the only pair that had closer belt loop spacing was Carhartt.

Is there a solution that I am missing?

Get a better belt. A "good, thick" belt is not necessarily a gun belt. Any of mine will hold up a steel 1911 without beltloops.

Get a gun belt.

Beltman, Looper leather, Cabela's double duty, Galco, Bianchi, or any number of others. Just make sure it's a gun belt.

What he said, but I would add Wilderness Tactical to the list.

Thanks to all.
Ok, the leather belt is a Cabela's Double Duty. I know, I know its not a gun belt. I could bearly get the Glock Sport holster onto the Cabela's belt. I am certain that it would not slide onto my Crossbreed belt, especially with the velcro lining. I didn't want to try, for fear that the plastic holster would scrape the Crossbreed belt. It wasn't too nice the the Cabela's.

Do leather, pancake holsters provide better support / less sagging in areas without belt loops close by?

Yes. Any good seamstress should be able to add a belt loop anywhere you want it. I used to have it done regularly for the same reason.

Did you cut the right little plastic tabs out?

Yes, the width of the belt is not an issue. Its the thickness of the leather belt. The holster loops are the same size front to back, no matter which tabs are removed. Hope that description is clear.

Wilderness Belt...CSM model...1-1/2" or 1-3/4" wide...good-bye sag.

Leather OWB holsters are generally more accommodating of thick belts, making it easier to use a quality stiff belt for sag-free carry.

Cabelas Double Duty belt may be double thick leather, but after looking at one last time I was at Cabelas, I wouldn't use one for a carry belt. Too easy to pinch the top and bottom between my fingers and get the belt to flex which will lead to weapon sagging, no matter where the belt loops are.

IMO, get a belt with an internal stiffener, Wilderness, CompTac which I have, and the Beltman all offer it and it is well worth it.

I run my belt through the front holster loop, then my pants belt loop on the side, and then through the back holster loop. Basically, there is a pants belt loop sandwiched between the two holster loops.

Are you skipping this pants belt loop? With a G27 you should have hardly any sag if you thread it through the side pants loop and have it centered behind the holster.

No. I am talking about in front of the holster. The next forward belt loop is 6 inches or so, away.
The belt isn't always the problem. The belt loops can be. I have several shorts that the spacing is wide & the loops are like 1 3/4". My Crossbreed belt is 1 1/5" & tends to sag down when wearing these.
Thanks. I guess I should have posted a pic. :embarassed:

It really has nothing to do with the spacing of your belt loops. It's your belt. It may also be your holster to belt fit.

I use a wide, stiff gun-specific belt for USPSA and it only goes through my rear belt loop. It doesn't move a bit.

For dress there are many options. This one comes to mind: http://www.blade-tech.com/Belts-c-355.html
