    Hypothetically speaking...

You've been given $1000.00 to blow on anything you want.

    The rules are:

1.) You cannot spend one penny over $1000.00
2.) You cannot buy anything for anyone else. It must be for yourself.
3.) You cannot pay bills with it, put it in the bank or give to charity. This is assuming that you don't need to do those things.

    Ok, then.

    What do you buy?!

Either a Browning X Bolt rifle with no scope, or a 400 dollar Savage rifle and a 600 dollar scope.

Got a trip coming up, would be a hell of a boost for that.

If not that, then some armor for my 4Runner. Addicted Offroad bumpers (with stinger), some rock rails, and a pair of 100W lights for the front and 55Ws for the back. With the left overs try to find a nice used Yakima Load Warrior for the top, and hi-lift, shovel, and spare tire mounts for it. Free up a lot of space in the back.

Third choice would be an EOTech XPS2.0, a dozen PMAGs, couple of 18-20 rounders for my 92FS, and an Esstac boar series chest rig.

New break pads installed and rotors turned on my pickup truck.

    Depending what's left, purchase ammo: 45ACP Remington 185 grain JHP and 308 Remington (R308W7) 168 grain BPHP-Match.

Pr0n. Seriously, it'd likely be gold if it was just given to me.

Gold is trading at $1100.00 an ounce right now. $1000.00 won't buy you very much...

    Tossup.

    Going only by MSRP?
    - I would say a 120Hz Samsung LED-backlit HDTV, but the right sized TV for me costs a little too much to make that cut, so...
    - Final Cut Studio costs $999. I don't have it yet. Will need it. Do want it.

Going by ability to shop around and find a deal?
    - I could find a Kimber Custom Pro CDP II for that price. But thinking more practically...
    - I could find a Korg Triton Extreme for that price. Would buy.

I would get my sig 556 off layaway. With the remainder(240ish) I would put it into my 68 sedan deville. Probably enough for some used tires and seat covers.
