want to get competitive in trap and other events like doubles or sporting clays. Probably get an autoloader. What does everyone here shoot?

I usually use my Ruger Red Labels in 12 and 20. Once in a while I try the Benelli M-1 to keep the dust off of it. If I'm feeling like having some fun, my little Franchi Veloce in 28 is always a good time.

Have yet to take the 16 gauge CZ Ringneck out for anything other than very informal gravel pit clays with my friends.

You can use anything, and don't need to break the bank on a fancy gun. What are you shooting now? If it works, stick with it until you wear it out or just want another one.

I'm not into it competativly, but do take great joy in getting a better score than somebody with a Silver Pigeon.

My nephew usually kicks my butt with an old Mossberg 500 I gave him 10 years ago....

I use a Browning Silver Hunter. I love it, but I don't shoot in competitions.

For years I shot my Rem. 870 trap gun, until I bought my Benelli Super Black Eagle. I shoot the SBE better than anything I have ever owned, whether goose hunting, pheasant hunting, trap, or sporting clays.

If money isn't an issue, the world is your oyster. Currently, I shoot:

Semi: Winchester Super X2- Great gun, but a little heavy.

O/U: Lanber 2097- bought from CDNN several years ago for like $400 or something like that. An absolute workhorse that's been 100% reliable.

Pump: 870 Wingmaster built sometime in the 60's.

Of the three, the Lanber sees the most use at the range and in the field.

    Trap/Skeet/Sporting Clays:
    Remington 1100 w/24" Hastings Barrel
    Remington 870 Wingmaster w/ 26" barrel
Beretta Silver Pigeon II w/ 26"

I suppose that I don't really 'need' any other shotgun for 'wing shooting' than my beloved 1100.

A good friend of mine has said, "When he has that 1100 in his hands, if it flies. . . . it dies!"

    That shotgun just 'fits'.

Now if I can just get my Pepper girl here gun trained I can do some real bird hunting:supergrin:.

I really like the 20g for clays. The reduced recoil of the 20g and the gas semi-auto are a big plus during extended shooting sessions. Definitely improves my score.

A Beretta Silver Pigeon is still in the works, I have always wanted one, just tough to come up with the cash for a fun only gun anytime soon.

    I shoot a Winchester Super X Model 1 "Trap".

I bought it new in 1980 and used it in competition for over 10 years. I don't compete anymore, but this is still my main trap gun.

I've always used an NEF single shot for skeet shooting, but only with friends and personal competitions. I can shoot 2 clays at a time most of the time with it while everyone else uses pumps or semi-autos.

I don't shoot competitively, I have a Remington 11 w/cutts. It was an aireal trainer. It's fun and easy to shoot, but the Cutts makes it loud.

I was never much of a trap shooter. That would have been my Dad.

He broke 30K registered targets with the Remington 870 before progressing through the Remington 1100, 1187, 90T, and finally ending his trap career at 87K registered targets with the Beretta O/U 682 Combo Trap.

I've shot a bunch of autos and doubles, but I shoot best with a Beretta 390.

I shoot skeet and clays with a Browning Citori 625 with 30" barrels. Love that gun.
