I have written the Record Center in St. Louis, but it looks like the USN Medical People did not archive many of my Medical Treatment Records, or they got lost. I have also written USN Hospitals, and Clinces where I was treated with NO REPLIES. Need these records for the VA!:steamed:

IDEAS?

I hate to say it brother, but if you didn't keep personal copies of you medical docs, you are SOL....I cannot count the number of times the Army lost my records...at one point I had 4 files going on at BAMC...After EVERY appointment I'd go to the PAD office and ask fora copy of the docs notes...
I just can not believe all this stuff disappeared, like record of prescriptions, hospital confinement, out patient treatment records??????

The Army MTFs (not sure about Navy) purge their records every 5 years...They send copies of everything to St Louis and then dump everything on site....

Honestly, St. Louis probably has your records and is just to lazy to look for them...did they give you the 'we lost them in the fire' excuse? As far as pharmacy records go, have you tried to contact the pharmacy directly (not the PAD office at the hospital)? They do keep their own records, and depending on how far back we are talking, may have them on file.

If you need records from when you were using the facilities as a civilian, not on AD, the Tricare service center may be able to help you out...
eta- are/were you involved in OIF or OEF? The VA has an entire division dedicated to helping OIF/OEF Soldiers/Sailors/Airmen/Marines...contact your VA rep and ask to speak with the OIF/OEF Program Manager for your area...that is who I finally had to go to get my benefits straightened out....The OIF/OEF PM answers directly to DC...
Been Down both Paths, and honestly Army Record were burnt up in St. Louis, Navy just did a poor job of archiving Marines Records imho.

Some records were burned, but they use that excuse when they just don't want to look....they told me mine burned in the fire, and I wasn't even born yet, let alone in the service when the fire happened..
Think I am,
Sorry I couldn't help much...
Sorry I couldn't help much...
But you tried.
But you tried.
If I come up with any more ideas, I'll be sure to let ou konw....I'll be at the VA on Tuesday doing some paperwork, and will ask them if they have any ideas...
Honestly the VA IMHO is not an advocate for VETS, they are only their to help if you can present your case on a Silver Platter.
My father in law was medically retired at E-7, 12 years ago because of Wilsons and they still haven't sorted out where his record is/went.... Needless to say he is technically still a Marine... A Pvt nonetheless... Now with them switching everything to electronic copies I'm sweating balls and making copies of everything I have any time its in my possession...

Best of luck!
Well i just got an e-mail in the last two hours from the records center in St. Louis say wht they have is being sent via first class mail. 5-7 days travel time.
