    I used to spend my summers in Wildwood...and I ate lunch and dinner there all the time...the lump crab meat appetizer is one of my favorites!

    I used to live in Cape May!!! I've been to those restaurants!!! I haven't been to Wildwood since the late 80's but I remember the funnel cakes and gigantic baskets of curly fries...oh so good^c ^c ^c ^c ^c ^c

    Mine is Outback Steakhouse. Sure, I love Ruth's Chris too, but Outback is way more realistic.

    Oh, and I like many Japanese restaurants. Here in the Jacksonville area, I like Shogun the best.

    Best restaurant in the world, IMO, is the Shintaro in the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. Will be there February 15th after the Shot Show. If you go ask for Mark, the manager, and tell him Colonel Klink sent you. You won't regret it.

    I'll be having dinner there next Friday night. Wife and I are driving up for dinner, doing the B&B thing for a couple nights and comming home.

    I'll only be able to eat at Lobster House though. 2 Mile is close for the season:( Guess I'll have to eat at the "Boat House" on Saturday ;)

    In New Orleans, I still prefer Commander's Palace. In Atlanta, steak is done nicely at McKendrick's. In Memphis, the Rendezvous or Corky's is a must visit. I like Shula's in south Florida (several locales). The Ruth's Chris in Mobile is the best Ruth's I have ever eaten at. Their West Indies salad and seared tuna are to die for. In D.C., for BBQ I like Red, Hot, and Blue. There is one in Ridgeland (Jackson) MS, too (or at least used to be).I have a real thing for Thai and I love sushi. Several places around town attract me for lunch and dinner in any given week.

    Other chains that I like include Carraba's (Outback owned), Outback, Olive Garden, P.F. Chang's, and Longhorn.

    Having done work at three of these facilities kitchens (and other areas of these facilities) as subcontractor, and having been employed by one of them directly, I can concur with your choices of these as being great restaurants, though none are favorites for me. Had a great dinner at Piatti on San Ysidro in Montecito a couple of weeks ago which was equal to any meal I have had at El Encanto, San Ysidro Ranch, or The Biltmore. (I was surprised to learn when I looked up Piatti on the web that they are a chain! I'll have to check them out up here in Nor Cal.) I spent two or three weeks working on a project at the Biltmore once, ate there every day!

    My favorite Santa Barbara Resturant is La Supa Rica on upper Milpas street. This shack (literally) has the BEST mexican food in the world. It is also Julia Child's favorite Mexican Resturant.

    When in San Fransisco my choice is: The Stinking Rose

    When in Sacramento it is Biba's - It is not on the menu, but you can ask for (and get)Gorgonzola Gnochi... IT IS HEAVEN!!! Either get it as an appetizer for all (everyone is afraid of it when I take them there, but everyone ends up loving it) or order it as a main dish. If I am picking up the tab, I simply order it for everyone as the appetizer, if I am not picking up the tab, I have to try to talk everyone into ordering it!

    Wow - I have attended or hosted probably a dozen or more meetings at the Santa Barbara Inn, but I don't think I have ever eaten at the Citronelle. Perhaps I'll have to give it a try.

    You can get some great weekday B&B deals in Santa Barbara. I was shocked at how cheap it can be! (Compared to typical/regular SB lodging.) I'll never stay in a hotel in SB again. (At least not weekdays!)

    To update my list for the West Coast:

    Samoa Cookhouse- Eureka, CA

    They serve only one thing for breakfast, one for lunch, one for dinner, but you are able to eat as much as you can stuff your face with. Good home cooking stuff: turkey, fried chicken, baked ham, pot roast & mashed potatoes, pancakes, eggs and sausage for breakfast..very good^c ^c ^c

    The Hole in The Wall- Umapine, OR

    Little nondescript bar about 12 miles from the Middle of Nowhere in northeastern Oregon. They only have Coors and Bud, but the burger platters are huge and the prices are so damn cheap. Me and my dad went there, had 4 beers a piece plus the burger platter (HUGE burgers), and the bill was 15 bucks. ;P ;P ;P ;P
