Had a long discussion with friends about which would be better to carry concealed. The outcome a draw. Pros and Cons to each. Which one would you carry and why?

    +1

For the condensed version of the rerun, get the 19.

Which is better to carry? Neither is better than the other, nor is one better to carry than the other. A glock may be better for one person while the 1911 may be better for another. That's all there is to it.

I've been carrying my G19 for about four years now with no issues, but with the good performance that my new 1911 had last night at the range (200 rds no malf) I am thinking about CCW holster selection now. Requirements are leather, OWB, Strong side. Suggestions welcome.

    Current leader is Alessi. :)

Ya know, I'd be hard pressed to find anything wrong with Alessi, but to tell you the truth, for OWB, I really like a lot of the Galco stuff. I have always been pleased with their quality and workmanship for a mass produced holster.

I glad you like your 1911. It gives one pause about carry the G-19 sometimes. I know...I have had the debate in my head many times.

    Thanks for the comments LawRand

I have a Galco Phoenix OWB for my revolver, and have been very happy with that (Thanks, Eddie), maybe I'll just get the 1911 version of that.:)

...and also, thanks for your service per your avatar, friend. ;?

I'm wearing a 19 right now in a ucr. Very comfortable, don't even know its there, and thats no joke!

I would carry the gun that you would trust your life with. My glock 19 has never, ever had a problem after several thousand rounds. I trust my 19 with my life.

There really are no cons to either of those guns. I have 1911's and I have a G19. I carry both and feel adequately armed with either one. Every gun I purchase I do so with the explicit intent to carry at one time or another. I love all of my Galco rigs. I buy Galco almost exclusively for leather. Sidearmor for Kydex.

Hey guys; I feel compelled to interject here.

I know Galco is good leather (I own a few holsters), but Alessi holsters are in another league.

Galco is to holsters as Kimber/Springfield is to 1911's: "affordable-ish", quality, good service, but otherwise plain.

Alessi is to holsters as Hilton Yam is to 1911's: custom greatness, and nothing else compares.

I own both a Galco and an Alessi, so I know from first hand experience that Galco is nice, but Alessi is fan-freaking-tastic.
