I thought it might be interesting to see what we would come up with here.....

Here is the deal. Let's say you could only own "ONE" handgun...Period! Rifles have been banned, all your rifles taken away from you.... 'All you got' is a "HANDGUN." "There are no rifles!"

Remember, you can only own 'one.' You have to use this for 'everything' from Conceal Carry, to...."WHATEVER!"
You can reload for it, you can buy, or 'hope to buy' ammo for it. You can customize it, you can 'trick it out,'......BUT,

It is "ALL" you got! It is all you can 'ever have'! It must meet "ALL" your needs (for life with a handgun). And you can only have......,

    JUST ONE!

"Keep this in mind..." We all live in different parts of the country, some in the city, some in the outback. Some hunt, some do not. Times are getting hard, so you may have to learn to hunt! What about available parts for your gun, what about reliability? Remember, you may 'pack it around all day', if that is your thing! There are all types of senerios here in your life and mine...keep this in mind when you choose..... The "ONLY HANDGUN YOU CAN OWN."!

    "Which one....(Gun /Make/Model)....? "Which Caliber?"

    I'll go first....

Ruger Blackhawk /, 45LC /, Customized to a 5" barrel, and with a Bisley grip. Inverted front sight ramp. Two small ports, on each side of front ramp. It can load up very hot!

This will, (for 'my' needs), take anything I point at with my Harcast reloads,....... OR, do whatever is needed, with JHP's.

    What about you? :)

AR-15 pistol, full auto of course.
Or I could settle for a 10mm glock. Unless Colt ever offers a .50 magnum.

Dan Wesson 7460 revolver with every barrel Dan Wesson makes for it.

.45ACP/.45Super/.45WinMag/.460Rowland should do just about anything I need it to.

Well that would be the spray and pray Glock 18;)

    Really I would want my G31 or G33 .
I really dont know what one...I guess that would depend if where I lived was warm or cold, wooded ,flatland or city and if it had to be hid from whoever easy.

Both are VERY accurate and capable of long range shots for hunting and 9mm FMJ bullets are easy enough to find to reload with if needed.
Heck I have enough .357 nickel brass to last me a lifetime:)

Plus I have a aftermarket 9mm barrel for them as well as a factory .40 barrel for each so I guess I would be set for 3 calibers in a slim grip gun that my GF could shoot well if times really got bad ;f.

    Just one, ever?
"Do not put your finger on the trigger until you are ready to fire."
"Do not point your gun at anything you are not willing to destroy."

OK, since I'm willing to destroy it when I fire it, I want to best destroyer known to be available. I'll take a S&W 500 in .50 S&W.
Revolver chosen over auto-loader in hopes of better reliability. Ammo availability and cost is disregarded.

I have to agree with MarineTech. The Pistol Pack for the 7460 is about $1600 and comes with 3 barrels (4", 6", 8"). Add scope rings for the 8" barrel with a Leupold Vari-X 2.5-8x32mm scope for hunting and you would be set.

I think you're the first person that even knew what gun I was talking about on a firearms forum. Glad to see that I'm not the only one that knows about this gun.

If it was from my personal handgun collection... it would be my S&W 629 .44Mag with its 8in 3/8ths inch tube and the 2x power Leupold that sits atop it.;Q

If I had to choose from my current collection, I'd take my 686. It has a 4" barrel and fully adjustiable sights.

If I could pick from future additions I'd take a.............

Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter. 44 Mag.

It may not be the best choice for a CCW pistol but it will work very well for just about everything else.

I too like the DW 7460, and it's probably the best choice here. However I like to keep things a little simpler. I'd take my Accusport Ruger Bisley in .45LC.

I want to jump in for a minute here and say... you guys are coming up with some good stuff boys...

Yes, the Dan Wesson i too, am familiar with, and yes, that is a good choice for covering a lot of ground in our "senerio situation."

    Let's see what comes up!
