Sometimes I wonder what goes through people's minds when they come up with stuff like this thinking that it'll look good. That Glock looks absolutely horrible.
I don't think they did it for the looks.... Benefit of the doubt.
I'm sure they did it to lighten the slide. Still, you can accomplish that in tasteful ways.
That certainly took some work to do.
Seriously? To what rational purpose? It can't make any significant improvement in performance and I can't see how a couple ounces would make any significant difference in EDC. How about foregoing that order of fries if you're trying to save weight.
I absolutely hate it, but at least they didn't do it to like a historical or collectible firearm. Glocks are a dime a dozen in my eyes. I just hope the person using it is only using it for shooting paper. The reliable function of the pistol was most likely affected negatively.
People that load their own bullets can load it with less powder for lessor recoil thus the slide has to be lightened in order for it to cycle correctly.. There's your rationale for you.
I highly doubt that gun was built for EDC.
I'm sure Liberace' would have liked it.
tasteful doesnt mean strong. i can only imagine they used the "space frame" style windows because it was the stiffest design.
I personally like this gun. I would never carry it, or bet my life on it, but i bet it shoots like a dream. Its a race gun built for a specific purpose. you wouldnt take your wifes minivan out to the local drag strip.
weight savings isnt about stationary mass, its about reciprocating mass. 2-3 ounces moving at 4 g forces 8-12 lbs of reciprocating mass. you shave weight off your slide and you have less force fighting you during recoil=faster follow up, less perceived recoil, faster shot times.
all i know is its a glock 21 lonewolf longslide conversion, some guy sent the pic to lonewolf and they have posted it like 4 times in the last few days bragging about it!
Here is my racer that I recently bought off a fellow GSSF shooter. Got my fastest GSSF time ever with this gun. It's built for competition only and all serious race guns have their slide lightened. This is an original G34 built with the original G34 slide.
its not my style, but its...................interesting.
I like it.
Damn...now that is sweet !!
Glocks are ugly but some folks can make them uglier.
I didn't think you could make a Glock look so ugly!
