Traded my XD40 Tactical yesterday for a new Bi Tone XD45 Tactical. The 40 was a nice gun but, well it wan't a 45! Seriously, I liked the XD45 service models I had looked at, but the slide seemed too "short" for the length of the grip, IMO. But I love the look of the tactical length and when I finally saw a XD45 5", i traded my 40 and some cash and came home with a new ccw piece. I love Glocks, but (for me) the grip feels too big on their G21. I can handle and shoot it fine, but it just doesn't "feel" right and I never keep them. The grip of this new XD45 is fantastic. It hardly feels any larger than the grip of the XD40 I traded, and in fact it fits in the same holster I was using for the 40. Glock seems auful slow to "changes" lately (how about the big SHOT show announcement fiasco last spring?). But judging by the sales Springfield is posting with their XD series in general, and the XD45s in particular, I predict it will be less than a year before Glock either redesigns the G21 or comes out with a new "slimmer" full size 45. Well, I guess time will tell. In the meantime, if you're looking for a nice polymer 45acp, I highly reccomend the XD45. It's the best thing since a 1911!
