I recently purchased some Federal Champion .45 (230 gr.), and much to my surprise, they used small pistol primers. Does anyone know if WWB .45 (100 Value pack) uses large or small pistol primers?

Pretty sure WWB is large primed. The little Federal brass I have uses the large primers. Federal probably went to the small primers because they got them cheaper or something, who knows.

Uh, how could they get them cheaper when they MAKE their own primers?

OP, it was probably an overrun of brass as some training ammo and the lead free primer ammo uses Small Pistol primers.

There is less brass in the small primers. Brass costs money.
