I called a walmart the other day and asked them for the price on this ammo and they told me that it is $24 a box.

WTF? REALLY? It went up $6 a box since a few months ago?

I remember when I used to buy that s for $11 a box!!!

I have some $14-15 packs sitting in the safe... it's good brass for reloading.

Did you price 40 or 45 value packs? It's just as bad.

They need to start giving you a tube of KY Jelly when you buy ammo these days. If you are going to screw me I don't want it to hurt.

I remember when it was $10.87 a box also.

Unless you bought enough ammo years ago, it's a take what you can get world these days.

    I remember the $9.95 days for a 100 rd box of 9mm.
At those prices (24.99), my local gun shop is just as competitive and I'd rather give them
    my business.
However, WM seems to have the cheapest .45 in my area at 32.99/100.

My local WM had it at the same price and it was on the shelf. However, they were out of the Federal "Champion" 9mm that they're selling for < $10/50rds. As a matter of fact, all of the "Champion" ammo was significantly less than the Winchester white box. The market on ammunition is going down, so they'll have to correct.

Before the price increase it had been $22 something since I first started checking on them last fall.

Now I pretty much just get Silver Bear online for about $10 per 50, including shipping.

The WM price went up $1 on 9mm WWB here - from $22.95 to $23.95. I thought that was universal.

Guess I'm lucky I just started shooting last year, so doesn't seem so bad. I remember when gas was 50 cents, though... same with smokes. At least we don't have a 300% tax on range ammo.

I remember pulling out of a service station because their gas went up to $0.40 a gallon. Twenty-four bucks for 100 rounds of FJM practice ammo is not bad today.

I'm starting to see a return of the Remington/UMC 100 round (two 50-round trays, double-stacked, tall green box, code L9MM1B) value packs of 9mm 115 grain JHP ammo. I've bought two in the last two weeks, one each from two different Walmarts. Price was $24.97, I think that was the same price as last year (the last time I saw it, late summer of '09).

So, $24 for 100 rounds of Winchester 9mm FMJ/ball ammo, or a buck more for 100 rounds of hollow point ammo? Let me think about it for a minute...

    I'm paying (today) 17$ for 50 .38 special 130 gr FMJ, and $36 for 100 WWB 125 gr +P SJHP.

cry me a river. The walmart I was in had 100 boxes + of 3 brands of 9mm, and similar in .223.

There were 6 boxes of 38s and 2 boxes of 125gr JSP .357s.

That's after checking 2 other walmarts and coming up dry. I got em all, and all the solid CCI minimags.

Just so you hoarders wouldn't get 'em this time.

These Remington bulk pack jhps have been showing up more and more in the WMs around here. They have been in 9mm, 40s&w, 45acp and 357mag.
