Has anyone here actually bought and tried the 50GI conversion kit for the Glock 21? I am thinking about trying one out myself and don't want to destroy a perfectly good handgun in the process.:wow:

    Cute idea.

Looks like it would be fun to play with.

    Until I saw the price!!!!!

For crying out loud, its half of a gun.

    $200....$250 maybe.

    Check the ammo.
    Check prices.
    Check performance vs 10mm.
Has been covered in The Ten Ring club here on GT.
You like it, go for it.

You won't destroy your G21. I have one and actually think it has less recoil than the .45. It is a massive bullet, but the price of the kit is not for the faint of heart. I am a GC dealer, so I get a little bit of a break, but it is still a pricey kit. Extremely high quality, though...

The picture is some rounds of the 230g CHP GI rounds I fired next to a few of the more popular .45 defense loads (Barnes, HST, Ranger T). It is not in the same league as the 10mm (in power or recoil).....nor was it designed to outperform it. It is certainly a niche round.

I sure like the way those .50 rounds expand.

.....and those 4-Pedals on the .50 round have almost a beveled knife edge to them. Pretty nasty stuff.
