Now THAT's what I call a fire sale!

    haha sorry couldn't resist.

No, it doesn't surprise me... I've had people try to run back in to their burning house (I'm talking fully engulfed) when they realized their ________ *insert object not worth dying for, e.g. pet poodle's favorite chew toy* was still inside.

We've had similar situations with our local super market. After it was remodeled, with the inevitable false fire alarms (until the bugs get worked out of the system), the managers wouldn't evacuate the store, for fear of inconveniencing the customers. Our chief would blow a fit. It is kind of weird walking through the store in full structural gear past the moms buying Cheerios.

I do have to say, though, the couple times we've had "real" alarms (usually just overheated / smoking heating units, etc but no flames) the store has been evacuated.

Sometimes i think to myself that we should occasionally let Darwin do waht Darwin does.

Saving people this stupid only makes the gene pool shallower.
