Something here has not been present on a Glock since about 1997. Bonus character to boot! I honestly can't say if this is normal on the US models, but I do have some Austrian ones that do not have it. Slide is 'normally' marked, FWIW.

The '40 S&W' is the highlight. Glock stopped marking the .40 cal guns with '.40 SW' back in 1997.

I thought you were referring to the markings on the top of the barrel. Deleted.

I have a Gen5 27, 23, and 22 and only the G23 says "40 S&W" the G22 and G27 just say ".40". Never noticed this before, all three are Austrian models.
