Finished it today, passed the final. Ten weeks of hell for an old timer that went through medic school almost 16 years ago to the day. Tough class with way more info than when I went to medic school. Oh well, now just got to take CE's to keep it current.

Anybody take this class? It's through UMBC in Maryland.

I've not taken it, but would love to. I just gotta wait until it is offered here again.

I did take the Certified Flight Paramedic exam--one of, if not the hardest exams I have taken. The bad thing is it is only good for 4 years, then you have to retake the test--I gotta do that in March :yuck:

I'm in the middle of EMT-B class. Just went over trauma and shock today. Really interesting stuff. I couldn't believe all of the requirement differences between EMT-B and EMT-P.

    :notworthy: to all the paramedics.

    :ambulance:

Thanks, but remember this...You can't provide good ALS without first providing good BLS.

My wife, who used to be an EMT-B, had this shirt that said "Paramedics save lives, EMT's save Paramedics".

    Truth in that sometimes ;)

CCEMTP is a great course, but if you not do critical care transport or flight medic stuff, a lot of that info goes right out the ol' cranial vault. I was a paramedic 13 years, and used very little of that stuff...still, fun course, and I used that info quite a bit when I went to the dark side (RN) and worked in an ICU and ED.

Dude, quit stoking the God complex.

J/K- My partner has a shirt that says, "paramedics can't really walk on water- they are treading on the heads of their submerged EMT partners."

Our agency sends us to CCEMT-P class. I hated it, ALOT. We went through the class in two weeks. Just so much info in such a short time.

There's alot of info for a 10 week course. I heard some of the people helping with our class that went through the 2 week class and everyone single 1 of them said it was tough.

The real good thing about the class is that we finally get our $3.00/hr pay raise next week
