I LOVE my Shield and it's become my EDC. I had a 43 and was never happy with my accuracy and I think I got a dud because I had some functioning issues with it.
My Shield shoots rings around my Glock 19 so it's what I carry.

    I have the 9mm, 357 SIG and 45ACP Shields.
Shoot them a good bit. Accurate and completely reliable.

One of the best all around guns I own.

The Shields are too big for my pocket carry or they would be carry guns.

Sorry, that's my mistake. The third Shield is a 40, not 357 SIG. Third on the right above.
    I wouldn't mind having a Shield in 357 SIG.

If I bought one, put a few hundred rounds through it, and had no problems, then I would. This would be the same for any gun.

    Trust, but verify.

Ever since a pin fell out of my .357 Sig version of the M&P, I will never trust them for a real defense weapon. Never had it happen with a Glock or any other handgun. It fell out while firing and rendered the pistol inoperable. I picked up that little pin off the range floor, inserted it and traded the gun immediately.

As happens a lot, a thread about a particular gun makes me want to shoot that gun.
So I just shot the 9mm Shield at 7 yards.

    I soon quit.

The cold wind was making my eyes water and the cold tears were dripping off the tip of my nose.
Very distracting. So I quit. :)

But still, that doesn't take away from the Shield being a excellent gun.

Of all your fantastic targets on your range, the two sitting to the far left on that cinder block would be my choice!

    I shot three last week.
Two empty and one about half full that wouldn't spray anymore. :)

Never owned one and no desire for one, but their track record is such that I'd have no problem carrying a Shield after my own personal vetting.

The Shield isn't +P+ rated and that's my only issue with them. I'm looking to switch all my 9mm carry ammo to 9BPLE. I have my reasons, but I'd rather be able to put 9BPLE in all my 9mm guns, including the Shield. I don't think 9BPLE is 'very +P+' when it is compared to some of the boutique stuff, but I'll probably end up loading the Shield with 9BP to be safe. I wish Federal would load the 115gr HI-Shok in nickle plated cases at 1225fps. Please, please give me that.

I don't own the Shield, nor have I ever owned one. That isn't to say I wouldn't trust one though. If I had to carry one, they're proven enough that I would trust it.
