    There's been a lot of talk from the Democratic presidential candidates lately about the "British and Australian model" for gun control.

    This essentially means confiscation, either through a mandatory buy-back, or just outright seizure.

    New York just passed a law that came close to the seizure option.

    The question is this --------------------->

    If a gun confiscation program is passed into law and the cops come to your door for your guns, what will your reaction be:

    A. Compliance
    B. Compliance but you'd protest in the streets
    C. It's shootin' time!

    Not an option, sorry. They are at your door this minute. They are going to search every piece of property you, or any other family member owns, until they find guns. Then they are going to take them.

    If they fail to find any, they will throw you in jail for contempt until you agree to produce them.

    What is your response?

    Jail = gated community, 24 hour armed security, 3 hots and a cot, library, medical care.

    That's better than I have now. Don't you threaten me with a good time!

    They can't arrest you for something you don't have. I'll tell them I'm a Democrat.

    I don't have any guns either. I called the PD to let them know I lost them on a boat... It was Sgt. Winslow who I talked to.

    If you're trying to present a realistic scenario, this has to be an option, to an extent. I don't think the British and Australian model was to search every piece of property every gun owner and every one of their family members owned. In the case of a "soft" confiscation, which is the kind much more likely to happen than door-kicking and thorough searching, passive non-compliance is a decent option.

    Of course I would surrender my guns. The government loves us and just wants to protect us.

    C. I have lived long enough and I am willing to die, rather than give up my guns. A lot of people would be going with me.

    Even if I could hide my guns, the very fact that I have to hide them means it is time to use them. If you don't believe that, you are an enemy of the 2nd Amendment and/or a coward. I don't see another possibility.

    If there is a gun confiscation going on and I intend to not comply and they're at my door and I'm unprepared and all of my guns are just sitting there at my house, then I'd say the only logical conclusion to draw is I'm dead. Hopefully I died getting a good piece or with my dog at my side. They can take all the guns off my corpse they'd like.
