Would you own or CCW a raspberry colored pistol?

I've been looking at getting a small single stack 9mm and really like the Ruger LC9s. Cabela's have them for $399 and starting on the 13th they have the "raspberry" colored frame ones on sale for $299 (+ $30 in rewards points) or a black one with a Blade-Tech holster for $419.

I won't pay $400+ for one of these pistols, but the $299 price looks tempting. Would the Raspberry colored frame deter you? Do you think it will show more dirt, especially in the grip area?

    Wouldn't deter me at all.

I could live with the raspberry to save a hundred dollars. My guess it is more likely to show scuffs and such.

I would only do it because of the huge cost difference, but probably end up spending more than that trying to cover up the color. I need to be confident with my CCW, and I'm not sure having a raspberry colored pistol would help that.

Now you have a gun to match your beret.

Same here as long as it's dependable I really don't care what the color is. That being said, it wouldn't be my first choice.

Though having a raspberry gun could attract some new female shooters.

    Wouldn't bother me.

The industry's given us weird green & tan & camo plastic frames, which look like something that would accompany a GI Joe toy, so why not bright colors? (It's not like a gun company hasn't already thought of it with plastic frames, right?)

Hey, I'd have bought my second LCP in bright yellow, if they'd made one. Easier to see in the safe. :) It would match my yellow Spyderco SALT, too. :tongueout:

Anyway, I don't think about how a gun's color might show scratches, fouling or other discoloration, especially in a working gun or a dedicated "pocket holstered" defensive pistol.

If nothing else, I suspect a jury might look at a raspberry colored defensive pistol with a different reaction, regarding the owner's state of mind, than one adorned with hell flames, flesh ripping points and a death's head, etc. o_O

I looked at it. Very cute. If you are secure in yr masculinity, it won't screw with yr mojo too much. You'll get made fun of though. For sure.

Well it wouldn't be my main CCW, I normally carry a g27 or g23. Thinking about those few times where a smaller, single stack carried in a pocket or on the ankle is the only viable option.

I could always claim it's my wife's, or that I bought it for my daughter when she gets older

I'm sure it would look smashing in a garter holster. Buy it for yr wife.

My wife has a pink Nano, and I'd have no issue with that, so no issue with raspberry either. I can tell you, the pink really shows every spec of dirt, so there is that.

Hey, black guns always look cleaner, sooner. That was something discovered with stainless revolvers. :p

None of the guns I'm interested in are available in silly colors so I wouldn't be in that predicament.
I'd probably just find a used one in black for the same price.

That does seem like a good price. The raspberry color isn't as bad as some.

It's probably less lame than those commando-rized camo paint jobs on guns.

Its also better than some of those hideous color schemes coming out of Sig Exeter.

Why not? It's supposed to be concealed anyhow. I have carried my wife's pink-gripped G26 several times. The fact that it has grip tape is a bigger objection than the color.

Besides, if you don't like the color - how many minutes would it take to change it?

Hey, for a hundred dollar savings they can put a "Gay Pride" sticker on it. :)

Well......... maybe I wouldn't go that far but No the color wouldn't bother me.

Actually I could see having some good natured kidding with it.
