But at least they had cheese
But at least they had cheeseFirst gen MRE's pork patty. Don't know that I ever saw anyone take more than one bite. The smell alone was pretty unappetizing.
jalapeno cheese spread or peanut butter. Legend has it the debate is still ongoing. But at least they had cheese
Oh no. This was in the old days when there was no such thing as Jalapeno Cheese Spread. Straight up cheese.jalapeno cheese spread or peanut butter. Legend has it the debate is still ongoing.
Hmm I started out with 90's brown bags. Swear there was jalapenos cheese, anyways it won over peanut butter regardless.Oh no. This was in the old days when there was no such thing as Jalapeno Cheese Spread. Straight up cheese.
C-RatsI only ate the 90 to 05 MRE's and chicken ala thing was my least favorite. In many ways I preferred the C Rations I ate from 78-82. It seemed to me that the fancier they made the food the less I liked it. My favorite was a ham slice MRE on crackers with cheese and hot sauce.
C ration canned apricots were great on a hot day. The potatoes and beef chunks C rat was nasty when cold ( this was before we were issued any way to heat food). I remember that the first C rat I ever ate was cold canned spaghetti. View attachment 993083

Thankfully those were gone by the time I enlisted; lima beans are one of few vegetables I dislike.C-Rats
did U like ham and m'f--kers?
(LIMA BEANS)
The 4 Furters were the worst of the worst. In the original MRE menus from 1982 up to around Desert Stoem, it was pretty much a toss-up between the frankfurters ("four fickle fingers of death) and the dehydrated pork and beef patties, which was about like trying to chew a brillo pad.
I despise chicken ala thing.Veggie omelette gives chicken ala king a run for its money But comes in a close second to the king of nasty MREs
