All the car companies participated in the socialist 'cash for clunkers'.

It's the standard gas engine for the 3/4 ton pickup.

The Charger does not hold up to beating law enforcement gives 'em like the Crown Vic does. Chrysler products are overall pretty bad quality, but that's another thread. The Impala flat out sucks, as stated above. The Crown Vic is set to be out of production in a year or so, and this is why many companies are out to fill the fill its shoes. A strong, reliable, and pretty large car is needed. I am predicting that the Caprice is this car, and will be adopted my most departments, unless something else amazing comes out first.

This Caprice is an "import" from Australia, and is just one bad ass car in general. Like the G8 was. Too bad they won't be for sale to the public.

Why would Ford drop the Crown Vic if it nearly has the market cornered on police vehicles?

Like the motor, but the car looks dorky as hell.

    And don't forget Taxi's too...

There are a bunch of reasons, but I will just list a few.

    - It's just an overall old design that needs updating
    - It is based on the Panther Platform, which has been in use since 1979
    - The civilian version has not been offered for a couple years now
    - Gas tank position has caused many fires in rear end collisions
    - It's slow
    - It's not very efficient
    - The interior is not very "officer friendly" i.e: no seat cut out for side arm, etc.

But, it has a ton of positive points though...

I would agree, but I'm in love with this car, so I'm not very objective.

Yes, 9,6 liter per 100 kms means 24,5 miles per gallon.
