So sad for this lady, whether the judge did anything wrong or not is probably irrelevant at this point, looks like they are looking for someone to take the fall

I've yet to see a piece of paper that can stop bullets.

Brent Blanton also placed a call to 911. In it, he is heard anxiously talking to his wife as she lay bleeding on the ground.
"Baby, I love you. Keep breathing. Oh my God. Come on, baby!" he said.

Sad story, man. Just an all-around sad, ****ty story. :sadangel:

Obviously I know no piece of paper can stop a bullet, it just amazes me that when the tables are turned, they are the ones to admit it to cover their ***. yet they are willing to implement gunfree zones... thats my primary gripe.

Elected represenatives makes 'gun free zones' by enacting laws....judges have nothing to do with that.

maybe its my fault for trying to lump "officials" into one category and for that i apologise. i know judges dont make gun free zones

Sad story....... sick, evil man, dead woman with a devastated husband and family and friends. I hope he burns in hell. Prayers for the victim and her family.

Is it just me or do these situations seem to turn out badly more often than not?
I've always thought that those protection-from-abuse/restraining orders just tended to make the stalkers even crazier.

Maybe they should print them on the backs of bulls-eye targets.

In my opinion, a big dog, a CCW permit, a firearm and some training would serve a lot of people well in the time before they could obtain a restraining order.....and thereafter.

I was wondering the same thing.... If my wife was being stalked or threatened in any way..... I WOULD take care of the problem.

A protection order has the same strength as a red traffic light.

This is a fine line for me. Some people say she should have taken the responsibility to defend herself by getting a CCW. But i feel there are some people who mentally just can't do it. I have a friend who has no problems with guns, is pro-gun, but personally just can not touch a gun. It has nothing to do with thinking guns are bad or guns are evil, just mentally she is afraid of touching them. I do feel there are some people who may not be able to protect themselves and if I were a sheepdog, this is the type of person I feel that it is my calling to protect.

I see a parallel with the armed forces, they fight for their country so its citizens can be safe

If it is possible I would see if the judge can be held or sued for negligence. It's a sad situation, but to play devils advocate she did give this nutjob her email and let him walk her to her car after work. Not that I'm blaming her, just saying.

This is one of those cases where following the law yourself is well... not an option. Sad story for certain, but this also reinforces my firm belief that sometimes law abiding citizens need to ignore dangerous laws and rules for their own safety and protection.
