I'm used to downloading mp3 files on Limewire, but have recently seen some files coded .wma. I should like to know if these are safe to place in my I-Tunes file. I just recently switched to an Imac due to a crashed (non-backed up disc) and have no desire to corrupt what I have salvaged.

Those are Windows Media files - did you say you switched to a Mac? If so you will need something like Flip4Mac to play them
